It is very nice but the best overall Nokia phone in 2009 will be the E72.

40 seconds on my E51, 35 seconds on the E55. With more time I am sure I can improve upon my time.

If you're not already comfortable with the half-QWERTY, I'm not sure if its really worth it.
I could do the sample text in about 50seconds (again, would've been taken much less time if I didn't have to keep looking at the screen to read the text) and I don't see any particular advantage over the E52.
This is for *new* texters, who aren't already familiar with T9.

> In reply to Gianfranco @ 2009-09-21 06:09 from PvrZ - click to readI've just tried on my Nokia E71 - it took me about 50 sec. and I was not really in a hurry. Could do easily less than 40 sec if someone would be dictating the text.
But this is not my point: if E55 can deliver not much slower speed of typing and it seems to be the case, I'll consider a change maybe, becuase all the other features are the same like E71 and it's smaller and lighter.
Cheers

I find it very attractive, even within Nokia's own portfolio. It is just my opinion of course.

Have had this for a couple of weeks now. Brilliant phone, very fast, even if it isn't Cortex. It is very speedy compared to my Touch Pro2. The UI is easy for one handed use and very attractive.

I'm not sure how E55 "outclass the likely rivals, especially when it comes to looks"? It's a matter of taste and personally I don't find E55 or E52's look attractive at all. I was expecting a balanced approach from GSMarena.

I bought a new phone - it's great. My new number is 12345678. I'll be late for the meeting on Monday, so start without me.
I typed this in 31 seconds using my Blackberry Bold, that´s fast.

Are you sure the E55 is made of metal? AFAIK, only the battery cover and face buttons are made of metal, the rest are plastic. Not that it matters much, but it would be good to know.

Can you confirm a red version is indeed coming? I see no listing of it anywhere on Nokia Europe. The white version is due out soon and I'll wait if there's a red version confirmed.
