Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 preview: Getting closer - read the full textSony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is one of the hottest names in the industry and it's not even released yet. Santa won't be able to get us one for Christmas but next year holds a serious promise for us geeks. The Sony Ericsson's first Snapdragon device and first Android smartphone is one seriously capable handset that promises great user experience...

Sort by:

Android 1.6 will limit the Xperia X10 to 65,536 colors when it initially launches, but at some point it will receive an Android 2.0 update that will allow it to display the full 16 million colors for which it is capable.

I'm liking this device for many reasons now:
1-Excellent camera-including its nice interface & front features.
2-Promising OS (hopefully the upgrade to v2.0 won't take too long)
3-Mediascape is a remarkable media center (would save me from getting a separate media player)
4-I prefer the hardware buttons in the bottom more than the ones on my htc touch HD.
5-The Snapdragon, of course.
I might buy it if the multi-touch function & 16M colors are confirmed. Hope the lags are over by then...

Nice preview. Thanks :)

This is really a good phone. Considering the features and the interface, I can possibly feel safe in choosing this and feel comfortable using this.

> In reply to ho ho @ 2009-12-02 05:42 from uykh - click to readI wonder why they would actually not put a radio in this phone. I think the best Android phone at the moment (This is just my opinion) is the HTC Tattoo. If this Xperia X10 come out with a FM radio it will be able to compete with the HTC Tattoo. But until then the HTC Tattoo will be considered by me as the best Android on the market.

LOL no slider? why would u want that on a smart phone... so tacky! and all phones are moving away from stylus to full finger control.. easier to use. i hate apple and have the x1 the day it came out.. but if the phone ui doesn't need a stylus the phone shouldn't have one...

dual sim? ya an ok feature but its not like everyone needs one. some people want to keep their wok and personal seperate

I'm confused, the phone itself only has 65k colors? or it has 16 million but the limitation is android 1.6? so if sony ericsson decides to update the phone to 2.0 it willl support 16 million colors?

Once Sony Ericsson at a corporate level decide on better levels of cooperation across their divisions, think long term instead of just satisfy quarterly yields for investors, and focus on the high end (which will trickly down the product line) and on innovation the company has a chance of a comeback, despite foolishly making redundant a great deal of talented employees in late 2008. The focus must be at this end of the market instead of producing lousy cheap plastic Walkman style wannabes that trash the brand's standing. 2010 will be key for its future.

I always like to see my upcoming appointments in the home screen, after my phone is on immediately, could the X10 UI do this...?

> In reply to nick @ 2009-12-01 23:26 from nxwR - click to readNo my friend I'm sorry to report for you that your the one who is being stupid. What about the satio, aino, yari, w995, c905, c902, all of those are great SE mobiles. So don't please tell me that sony has not been doing good for the last two years because they have done very well.

Hey Guys,

It's true that most people bash SE products because they just can't accept the fact that many and I mean many people love and believe in SE products and sony in general. It's rare to see se fans going to samsung or lg phones forums to bash them because they simply believe that their sony is better so they don't waste their time. On the other hand, people who like samsung or lg know that sony ericsson is more popular and even better in general, so they keep bashing us(se fans). And for all those people who are wondering why people love sony? Well because simply they are the best regarding quality, reliability and durability and this is from our personal experience. samsung and lg yes yes nice phones, amazing features but with a lot of maintenance problems so it's like something shiny but empty from inside. And now since the Aino is ok, it leaves only the satio which had the problem only in the uk! Other than that SE is fine and they have the best quality. And we people think wise we don't think like kids that's the reason why we are SE FANS THAT'S THE REASON WHY SE FOR EVER!

Good day folks ;)

Typical thrash talkers to try and convince others that they got massive problems with their phone. Truth is if yiu'd have issues you'd be sad and not trashing lke you do. better luck next time...
The x10 rocks and has nothing to do with either symbian or winMo. Android is the future and SE has realized that. Now lets see Samsung and LG copy that....
