BlackBerry Curve 8520 review: BlackBerry Lite - read the full textWith the Bold almost reaching perfection in the BlackBerry arts, new horizons need to be explored to keep the spark alive. The tall task to pioneer new territories (in BlackBerry terms anyway) falls on to the Curve 8520. The new Curve has a price tag that’s easier on the wallet...

> In reply to vagal @ 2011-10-15 16:54 from vGtY - click to readDon't go for Blackberry 8250. I purchase this phone by March 2011 and it sucks. Cursor always froze; always fail to send email with picture attach; internet so terribly slow (as slow as a 20-year-old computer) which make your data plan paid for nothing.......and more. DON'T GO FOR IT, YOU WILL REGRET.

I recently got a replacement BB 8520 and this phone when paired with my car is dropping and reconnecting all the time. My last phone did not have this problem. Is there any setting that can be changed or is it a problem with this phone ?

i've been using this handset for about 3 months now and overall the phone is good except... the internet keeps lagging, i have to keep taking the battery out then rebooting it to kickstart the phone. this is a bit of a pain but otherwise the phone is sweet!

I would like to know what is the highest resolution of video you can play on the blackberry curve 8520,and is it possible to watch movies on it,because I like the design but I wonder is the screen any good or is the curve 8900(that is not that nice)a better choice. Thanks in advance :-)

I totally disagree with the review. i am a previous owner of Nokia E52 and have been a faithful Nokia user since the days of 6110. i really was let down recently by the buggy Symbian Nokia offers in their phones. I updated my E52 twice and with each one they break something. I decided to get rid of that phone (although I liked its form factor a lot) and decided to try the BB's which i have heard a lot about recently. to be honest i was astonished by the Curve 8520. the build quality is better, the sound quality is much better than the Nokias, and of course the email client and the OS. BB OS let me recognize how much sluggish and unresponsive the Symbian OS is. I like the speed of the BB and the voice quality the most. I decided to go for the Curve as an entry level BB and once i grasp the whole thing of the BB's i will certainly go for the Bold. Good job RIM.

The BB 8520 is the best value for money smartphone in the world. And if you have a BIS contract it is even better. My only criticism of this phone and that goes for all BlackBerries and some other smartphones, is the lack of a FM radio, but I will try to live with it because this phone does so many other things right.
Although it does not have GPS like other BB phones, the price of the device makes more than up for it.
One more thing is that the 8520 is surprisingly pocket friendly.
