LG GW300 review: No-frills messaging - read the full textThe LG GW300 is quite a rare bird: it packs a full QWERTY keyboard and looks like a BlackBerry handset, but has a completely different line of business. Even if it was designed with teens and tweens in mind...

this thing is awesome. it runs opera mini up to 6. 4 works best i've discovered- just hope they don't carry through with plans to murder off java. i've had this phone for a while now, it works just fine. no lag, no halting processes. it's fucking awesome. if shit goes down just run a memory sweep and clean up all your crap...like even if you delete your messages shit is still stored. learn your phones, assholes.

> In reply to gopal @ 2010-11-04 10:04 from vGXx - click to readHey, I am using this phoe from 6 months, its a great pick...
Even better if you add more JAVA applications to it...
At times it becomes slow because of message count in it....If it is more than 150, it tends to be slow....
Rest it is great pick... :)

I'm thinking of buying this phone, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! Do they sell it in Canada? Where would I find it? And how much does it cost for the phone without a plan? How much / Month?

well i've had this phone for a couple of months and i will say that iot is is a good phone considering how much it costs, and i will say i like it it is easy to use and understand it got a nice design althought i dont see how it looks like a blackberry coz the only thing they have in common is the keyboard i actually think some of the nokia's e series look more like blackberries.
anyway the phone has great sound quality a 3.5mm audio jack and is easy to use and has expandable memory, camera's not great but the pictures taken aren't that bad. also you can get ther facebook app off facebook just go there on your phone and it will have a link for downloading it also you can download apps but you will have to search to find good ones that you can use, like i got this light apps that you can use in the dark off umnet they do good apps but you have to get the code for them then go online on your phone and click on a link "download by code" or something similar and enter the code and itll doiwnload

I am a new LG-GW300 user and I understand that it does not support office documents. However, is there any possibilities or are there any other ways that the word document I copy on it be readable. Because it would always tell me that "this is an unsupported file type". Thanks!

i am the real user of lg gw 300 phone. this phone is superb according to the price tag. screen resolution excellent. mp3 sound good. this phone is louder than any other phone. it has 3.5" headphone jack that means you can enjoy any good quality headphone. the modem of this phone is very good.

html docoment browsing at phone is very poor.
internal memory 15mb is very poor.

but always remember the price of this phone. (that is almost 1/3 prise of blackberry or nokia e72)

if you think about price and design it is really a very good phone.

sounds like a good phone , but still when it comes to black berry style phones i prefer to go with blackberry , cause the style and design is much more manly that other phones. this is actually a teenage group phone (judging by the design)and the hardware doesn't sounds really promising , i don't know about the price tag yet buy it should be a budget phone cause let's face it , LG is not a great phone producer and beside than that i see no reason why i should skip the same style phone on blackberry , HTC , Nokia & .... and buy this thing. but if it comes with a good price i could be a hit on the market,

Since LG doesn't invent or innovate any new technology, they have to keep repackaging their stuff with new "designs." That's how they stay afloat. Since "design" is a vague word, anyone can abuse it and say they are a "design leader."

It's like Seoul city's attempt to be a world "design capital."

LOL! It's one of the ugliest cities in the world!

And LG Headquarters!

in the first lines you say that this phone is designed with teens in mind and that it would be perfect for kids and teens, and that is true, also that you wouldn't be surprised if the mom's would like it to, in my store we sell this phone to guys between 13 and 20 years, and exactly like you say, the mom's come back to the store cause they wan't it to! it's 50-50 at our store, we do not sell them to teenage girls and the dad's tough! :) but it's a good phone, for a small price!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-01-06 21:31 from MfxY - click to readIt's not about whether it's thin or not, its about it's design. The keyboard at the front, etc. is what makes it looks like a Blackberry. Anyways, I'm not out to dis the E72, I just wanted to make my point about the copying business.

Because I have yet to see a Blackberry as thin and with a metal body.
