Facebook developer Joe Hewitt asked if the Android truly open source software, claiming that the mobile platform marked increase its market share only because Google forcing operators and manufacturers to install their devices in the operating system. Hewitt suggested that Android is no different from the IOS operating system and will not be until Google does not allow that in this operating system free to change by the community and leave the model according to which one wants to reveal ways to change the code.
Anonymous, 18 Jun 2010hey guyzzz does this phone supports multitasking ? does this phone heats up on continous using... moreYes it heats up pretty much when multi tasking or if you are playing game on. the battery drains pretty fast. it couldnt last for 5-6 hours with a single full charge. does the iphone face the same heating issue? apart from the over heating issue, this phone doesnt support Skype which totally put me off.( you could download skype from the andriod market) the application just wont work.. its simply too buggy after 1 day use....

Anonymous, 27 May 2010Come on children - let's not fight!!! Here's my (unbiased opinion) on the latest phones... ... moreYou forgot the iphone 4 which edges the Galaxy because it has a flash for the camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S running Android 2.1 has a number of connectivity problems (GPS, GPRS, WiFi. There is a comparative table at The UNIX and Linux Forums that describes these serious issues:
http://www.unix.com/whats-your-mind/144683-mini-review-samsung-galaxy-s-android-2-1-v-nokia-e63.html
Of particular interest is the fact that the Galaxy S GPS (running Android 2.1) is just about worthless in a car compared to other smartphones. It is not clear that the problem will be fixed with only a firmware update!
Can the Galaxy S play RMVB files?
Can we install Skype on Galaxy S and use it for calling through wifi network?

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2010Just wish i could afford that phoneTry harder its so worth it.
Hey all, well, looks like this has slowed down now - my last tip for battery life (and this goes for ANY smartphone) - download "Juice Defender" - you can still use it in conjunction with task manager, etc...
It's free and I have to say it's giving me at the moment x1.51 more battery (so it tells me) which is backed up by quick battery - 61%+ at 15.35pm is a FIRST!! And that's with over an hour radio, and a LOT of messing on the phone!
Apparently it works really well on X10 too...
ENJOY!
:)
Please pay your attention on the fact that this rewiev does not cover all the aspects. For example calendar entry and timer are much fascinating on the HTC-s UI. Sync options are better on HTC too. Rest of it is more or less same. Also camera is kind of blurry if to compare to HTC.
Just wish i could afford that phone
my samsung galaxy S doesnt have "android Market" application. could some help me from where and how could i install this???
Can somebody please create an app that installs a customizable 8 or 10 band equalizer to the music players in Android where we can create and custom adjust our own equalizer?
