I agree fully with the whole review. Iphone is overpriced and as you said "hardly". LOL my 5 year old phone hasnt had a dropped call yet.

even in terms of games and graphics samsung will never be tested at a full potential coz android cannot handle high end games, and big developers will not use android for their development coz there is no money there,
I just wanna tell u after testing Samsung Galaxy s, is just another Android phone, people using Htc desire or smasung galaxy will not feel any difference realistically, these android phones comes and go after sometime, as any other brand will take out a higher spec android phone and people will forget Samsung galaxy s, its true coz the competition is so high.
Iphone 4 is better in benchmarkings by the way

But at the end of the day, I think the iPhone4 is more desirable than the Galaxy S.
If both phone is on the table for you to pick...I could honestly say that the iPhone4 will disappear twice as much as the Galaxy S.
Yes. Truth hurts.

Hardware wise, the galaxy S is a BEAST.
The "Apple A4" is actually a samsung S5PC100, which is an A8 Cortex core with a PowerVR SGX535. In the iPhone4, the SGX535 is at 180mhz.
The galaxy S uses the samsung S5PC110 "Hummingbird", which is, again, an A8 Cortex core, but this time, with a brand new shining PowerVR SGX540 GPU @200mhz.
The SGX540 is around 40% stronger as it is, and with the frequency gap, you get around 50% more juice from the galaxy s.
It has a dedicated GPU, one that kicks the iphone 4's sorry behind, it has every thinkable feature on the market, and probably the best screen around.
Although they messed up BAD with the first Galaxy, the Galaxy S is, simply put, a device nearing perfection.
It's a media beast, a gaming beast, a good phone, good net console, and all of this is coming in a slim, light, and nifty package.
Samsung did SOMETHING right this time.

Oh and LG makes the beloved Retina display, so how much money is Samsing making off apple?

Wow I can see lot of apple haters here, the unlock code and jailbreak is out now freedom from Apple.
Used and tested HTC hd2s wild fires and all those high end phones and those nokia and other LGs, samsung etc coz I am a phone bench marker.
But realistically speaking Iphone 4 is one of the best phone in the market right now.
I am testing I phone 4 and using it as a primary phone for 15 days now, and here i go.
1) i have been using the phone initially without a cover and with a cover and saw that hardly you get a dropped calls, I think with the cover I have yet to see a dropped signal, actually realistically while calling iphone4 has a better voice quality then 3gs, when you make a call, u will feel that.
2) Hardware wise i think other high end phones are not good because they lack GPU, iphone 4 with A4 chip and a dedicated GPU with 512 ram is a serious hardware, games graphics are actually like console hd gaming.
3) camera is top notch which actually records 720 p smooth HD video, who needs a camcorder now and other high end phones lack that coz of bad or no GPU, on papers they say and realistically they fail.
4) Apple app store is the best right now, tested and firmly believe it, funny there is app for everything, I used android when i tested and used HTC and samsung phones and I can say android is still behind, they will need time and its gonna be difficult as big developers want money.
5) I phone 4 is expensive its not for everyday people thats a bad part, but i think with contract its reasonable now.
6) After testing phones i figured out that what iphone 4 says it does that, I mean when I tested some HTC high end phones, I saw that on papers they look good but realistically they actually fail (for eg even a VGA recording is poor and jerky on a HTC high end phones)
last but not least I can guarantee you that you will get bored with other phone and actually will never get bored with Iphone 4, u will know it in 15 days only.

I digress on the pricing, Samsung Galaxy S is actually more expensive than iPhone 4 in Singapore, Hong Kong... Singapore: Galaxy S$1098, iPhone 4 16GB S$888.

Although i am a iphone hater and a samsung i8910 user, i believe this is a very biased review. Gsmarena gave very low points to the iphone. The iphone should have won in many occasions. I am very disappointing with this review as it does not give a correct result on each topic. Looks like iphone was targeted for all it's slightly weak points and was over exaggerated! Anyways die iphone!

I do find that the review is rather incomplete. The lack of a flash on the Galaxy S would definitely make me want to test photos in low light conditions. It's interesting that Samsung made the decision to not include the flash. I have heard that it is supposed to work fairly well without a flash, but I would like to actually see it in action.
The GPS issues on the Samsung is a valid issue that some have brought up. I would have like to see it tested as well as one of the things important to me on a smartphone is the GPS. I personally didn't know about it until the members here brought it up. I guess the Galaxy S's GPS issues isn't as widely known as the iPhone's antenna issues. Still, I would expect the reviewer to be fairly knowledgeable about such issue as I would deem this issue to be important.
A review of the battery life of both phones would have also been nice.
The omission of testing the cameras under low light conditions and the GPS issues does make the review somewhat incomplete. Everyone has personal preferences about what aspects of a smartphone is important to them and will highlight them. Still being more complete would make this review seem more fair.

Although Apple had an early start with that Ip4 thingy mijiggy, so too will Samsung, Nokia, HTC, have a great 2011 early start with some devices which will exceed, proceed Ip4 light years ahead into the future & leave it for dust as some overgrown piece a glass ornament in the mantle shelf. So too will Android & S^3 also exceed Apple. It will only be a matter of time before these other Soft entities open up their bowls with emerging markets, think Android App Store, Nokia Store, etc.. etc.. it's going to be a matter of time before Apple are lost in their "then" *small* App Store. Looking for a way out.
