I think there is an option to disable wallpaper scrolling. that way, you can keep the picture you want on all home screens, without the need to crop them.

Does the phone get stuck after installing the new 2.1 on to the phone? I heard that some of my friends complain.

> In reply to bummy @ 2010-12-17 01:42 from 9xEg - click to readWell what I really want is when you take a pic , with the phone vertically, the photo occupies the entire screen right? why cant the phone set it just like that as wallpaper, and it has to crop it with the orange square??If i can see the entire photo vertically, the phone should be able to set it just like that as wallpaper. Instead of cropping it :(

This phone been out for a year. People are dumping all over WP7 and they've only been out a month and don't have this many problems.

> In reply to Gama @ 2010-12-10 15:53 from 3E4r - click to readsetting wall paper doesn't blur the image, and it doesn't zoom in.

Just grab the zoom-box borders, and it'll allow you to resize the zoom area!

Hey there. I recently got this phone and I couldn't be happier. The screen is huge and rich in colors, the grasp is firm and nice to the hand, and the build is just excellent, not to mention the killer design it's got (but that's more of a personal taste thing).
The phone is a joy to use, I updated to 2.1 the night that I got it, but even the short time I spent under 1.6 it was pleasant. No lags, no reboots whatsoever, apps. opened up almost instantly, Timescape ran smoothly and fast, Mediascape was as nice as a media gallery could be. After the upgrade, things got even better. Five screens to play with, the screen got much, much better (it was fine to begin with) and HD recording is truly there, videos have crisp sound and a huge size with lots of detail.
Then there's the Android market, a true bliss because it will complete those needs and wants you might have left from this incredible device. In my case, I'm a heavy music listener, and Mediascape didn't provide a widget for a homescreen-direct music control, so I found a bunch of players that did, picked my favorite, and that was that. I didn't have to complain and yell about "how crappy the phone is" because I found what *I* wanted. Same went for DivX playback, because *I* wanted it, I found an app. that served me well for that. See? There was no need to come here bashing the phone for not having native DivX support. What would be the point of doing so, if I already got what I wanted?
There's millions of examples in the comments below where people complain just because they can, NOT because they should. Really.
I doubt I have an "out of this world-extraordinary-Xperia special unit". My guess is I have a plain Xperia phone, which never restarts, NEVER heats, and holds charge for a day and a half under very heavy use, so that's how your phone *must* behave. Otherwise you got the bad luck of a bad unit. Exchange it. That's all there is to it. But please stop posting totally useless comments about things the phone isn't meant to be doing anyway, got it?

> In reply to Gama @ 2010-12-10 15:53 from 3E4r - click to readThat's because your pics have a lower resolution than they should. It's not the phone's fault, is it? If you read the specifications, Xperia's wallpaper should be 960x854 , that's the second highest resolution available as of now, just behind the iPhone. That's not stupid, is it?
If your pics are larger than that, then the square will let you fit what you want to see in your screens (through all five of them). If your pics are smaller, the phone has to strech it! Or did you want only three of your homescreens with half your wallpaper, and the remaining two in blank?
*However* there's an excellent app. in the market called MultiPicture Wallpaper, which allows you to set *five* different walls to fit in each of your screens! That's pretty smart of Android, isn't it?
With this app. even "small" resolution pics (360x480) make great walls!! Trust me, I'm using those walls from my old Nokia.
