Nokia N70 review: Universal fighter

Both my daughter and I purchased the N70 when it first came onto the market here in Australia. I have had a couple of problems that required rectification by a nokia service centre however now that the warranty has expired there seems to be a few more faults surfacing. The worst for me is that the phone will not vibrate any more, a feature desired when the phone is set for silent. I have downloaded the patch from the nokia website and that didn't work.
Does anybody have a means to rectify this fault without taking the phone to a service centre and taking the chance of losing all the phones memory?

Dear All, I have nokia N70 and I have the chance to rplace it with N91, so which is better???? Please advice me as soon as possible. I am interested mainly in the camera not in music...

Another problem i found is that only 21MB of internal memory is available in my mobile. But in the review it ws mentioned that it has 30MB right??

That was a very good review. But i couldnt understand some terminologies in the review. What is meant by Macro mode?? Can u be a lil more specific about the Motives?? Where can i find that in my mobile.
Moreover when the MP3 files are interupted(by a phone call or SMS) it jus stops abruptly. Is there any kind of PATCH to solve this problem???

I DONT HAVE YET A N70 Cellphone but I hope to buy this Phone this month of December I am still saving some money for this the lowest price in megamall is 15,500P, and the highest price is 20,000 plus I to buy this phone before Christmas

I also found the red hangup button really annoying: when playing hard platform games I often used to press it accidentally and lose my progress.
However I have solved this problem with NoRedClose (that can be found on Handango) which will disable that functionality but will still allow you to hang up phone calls normally.

I've had my N70 for approx 8 months now. It has been in for service once - it wouldn't work unless I had the headset attached. This problem has happened again on many occasions, and then just rights it's self. Apart for that it has other intermitten problems such as the keys wont work one day and will the next, the toggle button wont work one day and will the next. The ringtone when it rings, winds down and sounds really sick and the face plate fell off. Each day is a wonder as to what next will happen. Not happy!

hey guys,
i have just got the N70 on contract, it is an excellent phone!!! cant stop using it, changing things to see how they look (lol)
all i can say is this phone rules! and if people are looking on here thinking of buying one it is well worth it!!

Good review, but it's target is previous (or actual) owners of Symbian phones. I think that only people that once own (loved) a Symbian phone will truly understand the review.
For a normal user who is trying to move from a normal phone to a smartphone this review will be a little bit scary (to many references to the slowness of the phone for example). But on the other hand it is not your job to do their Symbian/Smartphone training ;)
For me this review is very useful, sience I owned since now 6600, 6680, 9120i and 8110 from Nokia series.
