well first of all .

The problem with duo core phones is that 2.3 doesn't utilize it only honeycomb does which a tablet only. So only till ice cream comes out only then we will see the true power of duo core phones.

second of all the software on SGSII is still beta, and the cpu hasn't changed.

Only thing we can take from this test is Display and camera.

Did you try Opera Mobile 11 one the Galaxy S II? Opera is incredibly smooth at panning and pinching on my Galaxy S, would be curious to hear how it runs on dual-core hardware.

Samsung should have chosen a different GPU for their flagship. Seems that Mali400 will have lots of incompatibilities with games. PowerVR SGX 543MP2 would have been an excellent choice. Hopefully Samsung will provides better drivers...

> In reply to Matt @ 2011-04-09 12:04 from sSM9 - click to readThe Optimus 2x was rushed into the market to claim the "first dual-core" mobile phone while the SGS2 is not even out yet and what they have is a pre-production device. It's like pitting a pioneer device against something newer by 3-4 months. A much fairer fight will be between the O3D vs the SGS2. Main flagship vs a main flagship. The O2X is like the 2nd best on LG's lineup while the SGS 2 is Samsung's main device.

But viewing angles only matter on everyday use scenarios(in which case even the normal SAMOLED is as good as the SAMOLED+ and CBD). Anyway, Im buying this here badbody, jst kinda worried abt the size(itz as big as the Desire HD, which is huuuge)

It doesn't need a bloated OS, with the fastest processor on the market. iOS is optimised, which is where Android fails and HAS to have faster hardware. A flawless smooth UI is actually something people in general enjoy.

0 cdm is not possible with SAMOLED Plus, just display a pure black wallpaper and go to a dark room you can see that the OLED's are illuminated.. lock the phone and you see a MASSIVE difference.

> In reply to Juha @ 2011-04-09 12:33 from pI@I - click to readIn what shape or form is gs2 better than arc in terms of camera? All the photos on the gs2 have saturation problems, that DOES NOT give you good photos. That does not show you the colour in reality. And where are the night shots? Is the gs2 so good at night that gsmarena don't want to show it off?

When i saw this on the main page, i thought to myself, sgs2 will win this, and guess what...

Take a guess why iOS is running so smooth?

Ok, i'm gonna give you a hint: iOS is scraped of choices and options.

iOS doesn't even use 30% of what the iPhone 4 or iPad 2 is capable of.

Anyways, the Samsung Galaxy S II will be my next phone.

Arc's camera is poor. Can't compare with S II, they are in different leagues. Good photo quality was once SE selling point, but that times are history.

despite 512mb ram and crappier screen LG has better gpu and sensor than sgs2 but it is just another LG phone.

How is that cheating?? The key to success is knowing your enemy's weakness and overcoming it. I'd say that's a pretty solid strategy which will keep the Galaxy S2 in the market as a top contender for a longer period, unlike the Jet which was phased out by Android in just a matter of few months from its launch :|

I dont`t see the point about dual core, it is not so fast and after I have seen this video, I realy notice that my iPhone 4 is faster in load games. And the display on s2 is not so good as retina, but s2 maybe has better coulers , not angels

Where is the OpenGL benchmark? Did it crash on the SGSII? For now, that is the most reliable GFX benchmark on Android and seeing how the iPad2 probably has the same CPU/GPU package as the SGSII it would have been interesting to see if, like the iPad2, the SGSII can outperform Tegra chips by a factor of 3 in that benchmark.

Also: NeoCore for graphics performance? You are kidding right? Qualcomm's MSM7225 budget cores can perform that one at a seeming 60FPS.

Last things: What kind of 2.3 were you running on the SGSI? Cyanogenmod or one of the beta firmwares?
In benchmarks and games 2.3 barely gives a performance increase whereas 2.3 on both Samsungs is still in a mid-quality beta stage which would have a far more significant influence on performance.

i really love galaxy s II from the first day it's announce. But lg has also done a greast job. Optimus 2x is being sold in italy at 499 but galaxy s II will be sold at 700+ this is really a bad thing about galaxy s II..
