Anonymous, 03 Aug 2012my dad is haveing appel fone and his saying not needing 3d on lg fone because his app from app... moreyou want FM radio, buy a other phone. This phone does a lot of other things which are more uesful. And you don't even notice that Android is outdated . People nag about apps you can't use because you need a higher version or something, but i haven't found 1 app i couldn't use. And the UX interface makes you forget you only have version 1.6. So i't aint a shame, it's just a very good phone. Well done SE!
This is one of the best phones I have owned so far. Bought it last week and besides its 3D capabilities which are quite nice, it runs flawlessly, pretty fast and smooth. Compared it to the SGS2 and the Sensation but the Optimus 3D was my favorite. Found it came on par with the SGS2 but didn't like its S-AMOLED screen. It just looked a bit strange to me but this is of course a matter of personal perception. The Sensation with its 1.2GHz was still visibly laggy in comparison and felt like its high resolution is simply a bit too much for it to handle properly.
There is almost nothing I dislike about the Optimus 3D and maybe it will even get better with the promised Gingerbread update, although sometimes it may be better not to touch a running system... and it's already running very very well.
LG has really done a great job with the Optimus 3D. Cheers!
Asphalt, tried to play it on this phone, you have to not tilt the phone as you lose the 3d effect (as move out of the sweet spot), so have to use touchscreen controls. The 3d is actually a bit disturbing and I'm not so sure that in this format it will be of much use sadly. It reminds me of when we first had stereo sound years ago, they had not quite got to grips with it. I too watched the phone linked to a 3d (non glasses) TV, again it was not comfortable. You need to turn the 3d down to a minimal level I feel, then it is fine. As far as a phone goes this handset is superb, it is premium, even without the 3d and actually I feel even makes the Galaxy S 2 look only average. LG have come a long way in a short time. Best handset I have ever seen to date.
Since there's no full review yet, and the phone is already in stores, can anyone give me an answer to a few questions?
1. How does this compare to both the LG Optimus 2X and the Galaxy S2 in terms of processing power, image/video quality, out-of-the-box supported video formats?
2. Is there any browser or Flash lag (like with Optimus 2X not being able to play above 480p You Tube videos)?
3. How would you subjectively compare this to the Galaxy S2; does this come close to it?
Thanks to anyone who can answer this.
my dad is haveing appel fone and his saying not needing 3d on lg fone because his app from apps store which makeit the 3d.
i'd already tried out the 3D optimus prototype, looks cool, u can playing 3D games and shoot 3D photo!
Looking impatiently for the review... gsmarena hurry up... please!!!
I'm not sure it's the best device at the moment.
Here is Docomo SH-12C with better specs:

This might have been my choice of next phone if Nokia hadn't come out with N9 (and I guess still might be if N9 gets delayed, some huge fault is revealed etc).
Quite interesting device and as others have said, this should have better actual performance than SGS II. Do wonder about the battery life though. Android is notoriously inefficient and the 3D gimmicks probably add an extra load.
This phone should be faster than Samsung Galaxy SII due to it's dual-channel and dual-memory. LG has promissed twice the performance compared to other 1GHz dual-core phones out there.
