hey guys, how do we update the service center no in the w8 since tried and looked everywhere possible in the mobile options but couldnot find the option to update the service center # for messages. any help is appreciated. Thanks

hai every one.im muru from malaysia.im having a handphone shop.i bought a se w8 phone.its a ap set.when i one the phone the are 10 software in chinece language.the other software are in english.im a indian guy.i dont know chinese.i dont know how to chage the software translation to english.a customer intrested in se w8.when i saw software in chinece language he dont want the phone.coz he think that this is a duplicate china model.i explain to him its a ap set.latest se w8 phone have this software.when i check with the dealer where i bought this phone they said all new set se w8 will have this chinese language soft ware.im in middle of problem now.how can i sell this phone?is there any friends can help me on this matter.need advice.like can i change the language or can i delete the software.is this software link with other softwares?im not sure.if anybody want to reply me you can email me at murugan473@yahoo.com.i had email to the main distributor.but i have get reply yet.i found the email inside the phone.hope i will get a good reply from some one.good bye

Went the whole hog- rooted it and tried out a lot of different custom roms. Of these, Froyobread (final version) is the best and the most complete 2.2 rom for the W8. It's pretty, slick and quite efficient- I managed to get around 2-3 days of backup.

The best Gingerbread rom out there for the W8 should be the GingerDX rom. I'm using this currently. It's faster and smoother than Froyobread, but it's less efficient. 1-2 days of battery life with moderate use. Lasts for a day with heavy use.

The best thing about GB roms is the updated DSP manager. The Bass Boost option works wonders and can almost pass off as the MegaBass preset of the Walkmans of yore. Replaced the stock Music Player app with PlayerPro- it's really pretty and functional.

Launchers are a personal taste. I loved the ADW launcher, but it's too heavy for the W8 and can cause slowdowns. LaucnherPro's fast, but it's a little too spartan for my tastes. GoLauncher's the best of the lot. I am currently using the SE Xperia Active Launcher. Slick and smooth without any clipping or lag between gestures.

Thank you SE for not releasing the 2.2 update for the W8. If you had done so, I wouldn't have learned to do stuff like rooting, modifying and cooking custom roms. Now I'm not dependent on the manufacturer for their lousy updates. It's been an entertaining experience- like learning to drive. As with cars, people rarely keep their driving school cars. My case's no different. My next phone will be a Samsung or an HTC. Thanks again.
