Nokia N9 review: Once in a lifetime - read the full textWhen the first touch-only OS debuts on one of the hottest pieces of hardware this year, you can bet we want a piece of the action. Windows Phone is where Nokia want your attention, but it might turn out that MeeGo is the place you want to be. Not shown much love by its own maker...

why is the marketing of the n9 not on par with that of the lumiaa 800.?????????
the n9 is one hell of a good device but the less amount of marketing will lead to it's not reaching the top spot.

I'm a huge fan of tecnology, I used to have a Galaxy SII and sold ot to get this phone (Nokia N9) I just love the phone and software, it lacks apps I know but I would not change it, I use 2 cellphone One for work (iphone 4) and one personal (Nokia N9), if my N9 had whatsapp I would not need my iphone at all...

Have had this phone after taking in careful condsideration about the future of meego and all the reviews. I shouldnt have even worried. Updated as soon as i got it vis the pc software.

The phone has amazing build quality. The screen is bright and very responsive. Call quality is typical nokia aka excellent and battery time: lets just say i took the phone of charge at 5am and its now almost 7 pm and i have 73% left and this is with constant syncing of emails, web browsing for 40 mins, 30mins phone calls and 1:30mins of music. I managed to find all the apps i needed luckily but the reviews are right when they say there isnt really a lot available.

Not experienced the bluetooth issue as yet and the wifi hotspot feature works very well.

Overall an amazing phone. Just wish Nokia would have backed meego because honestly i have tried all the Os's up till now and i love the simplicity of meego and it looks. Well done nokia. I'm actually considering getting another one as a spare just in case as I've not really enjoyed using another phone as much.

I bought this phone about 4 hours ago from Vodafone, so I can't tell much good about it (except it looks great and swipe feels great; very elegant indeed. An elegant tool from more civilized times).

But I can tell about the shortcomings:

1. Bluetooth issues: it can't connect with my Nokia headphones (BH-212). Actually it can't even see them. I had no such issues with my old Nokia phones.

2. Although the screen is very fluid so far, at some point it freezed. Completely. Like the old Windows 95. I had to use the physical button, to restart the phone. But that's usual for all phones, so I don;t think of it as being a big issue.

The bluetooth issue, however, is really annoying.

Great phone! I gave it back after a week... Reason: it has all the looks and promises to perform, but when it is asked to produce the shortcomings become clear: no synchronization with windows XP; what were you thinking Nokia? Very limited applications! Not compatible with Whatsapp! No radio! It looks to me as if Nokia is out to con you into buying a phone based en esthetic appeal, only to find out you could have done much better! Rather go for Motorola RAZR, Galaxy SII or iPhone 4S. Really disillusioned in South Africa with Nokia :(

Agreed anonymous. I wanted to know in case developers didn't bother with meego or Alien Dalvik wasn't incorporated into device. I really like the phone and os, a change.
