Nokia 808 PureView in focus: Interview with D. Dinning - read the full textThe Nokia 808 PureView certainly made a splash at MWC 2012, pinning the company back on the cameraphone map in an extremely advantageous position. We had Nokia's Damian Dinning tell us more about his team's baby and how it came to be.

Why would anyone want to process a 41mp image? It would be HUGE. The 41mp is for more detail, and the lens is one of the largest on a phone = more light. This phone will match a number of recent pocket cameras.

Someone at the top has said to the developers "look, Symbian isnt going to be around for that much longer, go nuts" And they have.

This phone is a joke..let me state the reasons
1) its based on an OS which Nokia themselves are killing it. The please Nokia fans with Win7,n then they slap them hard with Symbian again ..NOKIA choosing Symbian over Win7 is like Samsung putting their upcoming Galaxy S3 with badaOS .(badaOS is good but not good enough)...Wudnt u hate it if it became a reality? Why waste ur flagship on ur precious yet inferior OS? Nokia says they chose Symbian cuz development started years ago on SYmbian. LAME EXCUSE.

2) 41megapixels ?? Didnt the industry make a common opinion that megapixels dont matter? The only good thing about this lense is that 5mpx and 8mpx still will look great. And i dont think anyone will shoot pics higher than 8 or 12mpx. Imagine the laggy Symbian OS with single core CPU trying to open a 41mpx image..zzzzzzzz all the way.

3) This phone is a good cameraphone but a bad smartphone. Despite its camera tech it will still be inferior to point n shoot digi cams half its price. Any photographer can tell u that. Artificial processing can never bet the real deal yo !!

The official reviews will say it all eventually. Lumia 800 failed to impress, and it sold merely bcuz no other manufacturer is interested in making Top of the line Win Mo phone.. this phone will b a bigger fail.

"symbian crap" can do things WP and iOS can only dream about.

it was crap before (S60v5, S^3), but Nokia Belle is cool (ok, itstill could get a lil better, but now it's 100% enjoyable and good looking).

The best camera, is the one that you have with you always......The future is bright for meeee! Guess i will have to park my pocket cam & not to worry about my enthusiast cam and forget about my camcorder...Nikon & Canon & Panasonic are sure not going to like Nokia.

Just awesome, light years ahead competition..

I think Carl Zeis has an exclusive contract with Nokia.. Ok that part of the technology is Nokia, but apart from that, there is no reason competition doesn´t have any similar products until now... N8 still rule after 2 years of it´s lunch!! Congrats Nokia, congrats!
