Otherwise the extra cores are gimmick in nature, FYI in normal practice extra cores means extra powers are needed maintain them. So you have extra cores, with no necessity to use them, and they cost extra (energy and cost wise)
And another thing, playing GTA on smartphones have nothing to do with the processor (a.k.a your 'cores'), it's dependent on the graphical accelerator.

BUT see yourself the combarison between n8 and xperia s! n8 delivers MUCH BETTER details, LOWER noise and FOR GOD'S NAME NO croma noise! it's UNACCEPTABLE for a 2012 12 mp camera phone to has croma noise! even the iphone 4 doesn't have! one picture is 1000 words! see the samples and see that n8 delivers the best quality! and when the 808 pureview comes out, then the xperia s camera will be just a "robot play"!

My friends, its the first sony phone, some companies as samsung or htc wait and at the end, they make a phone that is a bit better than the other phones . Like sIII , its quadcore and 12Mp camera and 4.7' Display and its not honor for samsung, sam get the chipsets and as a puzzle solve that . But what is the good design? Is a thing that samsung have not it. Samsung dont pay attention to provious users , for example sony xperia ray or mini or live walkman give ics but only dual cores of samsung give it. So samung is ....

> In reply to Shaks @ 2012-03-31 06:48 from 0C0F - click to readHas had it two weeks. The battery is terrible. One night with wi-fi and gps off it went down 22%. Have to constantly charge it. It don't last 24h.
And I have still not found a good HD video player to play 720p mkv files. Either sound or picture is lagging. (Dice player, mx player and vplayer).
And you can not make video calls thru 3G. I even called their support about that, which they confirmed :(

> In reply to sony gud job @ 2012-03-31 06:18 from vb$A - click to readDual Core in android is not enough. True multi-tasking can be done only on a quad core phone.
HTC ONE X with Tegra 3 quad core processor, we can play GTA or any other high graphics game with browser, maps, music and many other apps in the background and can switch to camera and take pictures amazingly fast without any lags at all.
SONY is still in the backseat with Snapdragon MSMchipset with 1.5GHz scorpion processor(same processor was on HTC sensation xe last year) and no ice cream sandwich out of the box which is disgusting as a flagship of the year.
Last year Sony had a loss of 247 million euros. I think in this way it will increase likely.

why all the hype for quad-cores?? its price will be lower than those 'superphones' so stop comparing, and its performence is on par with the overrated one x.

Found Something Interesting!

Read about a lot of people complaining about the soft buttons for Home, Menu & Back, that they are sluggish and you have to press twice or harder to activate. Actually, these three soft keys operate very well with an upward flick gesture. Try it! It never fails. I found this by chance when I was experimenting with a similar feature with Go Launcher.

Also is it only my phone which shows a 1.7G free memory on the Phone in addition to the 25G ? I thought this phone only comes with 1G :-)

I wrote about my disappointment with this phone in the opinions a few days ago. I am just hoping things will improve after a sw update. Battery is still poor. Phone is sluggish and freezes now and then. Installed Apps simply disappear after a change to Go Launcher. YouTube behaves weird, crashes on rewind or ff and sometimes launches automatically on its own like a ghost App.

I am not sue why everyone raves on about quad core as if it is a life saver. Android needs dual core just to run the os because it is not an optimised system. Just look at all the issues with people that have different mobiles trying to upgrade to ICS and finding they are worse off. In that regard Sony is correct in focusing on getting it right from the beginning with current hardware. This is why it is the Android to buy now.

The Xperia S, combine with the great image quality, fast capture, shot to shot time, full hd capture etc, your N8 won't stand a chance to users who want speedy shutter to capture those special fluttering moments. You cannot capture it with the N8, it will be lost forever in oblivion.
