The i8520 was hardly released anywhere... so almost nobody could buy it. That's a poor reason for calling it a failure... especially as nobody who owns one seems to have a bad thing to say about it.
The i8530 is slowly being released around the world... I still can't find it locally... but once again few owners have anything bad to say about it.
I've been keen to buy something like this for ages... but it's being released very slowly in Australia... and no major store seems to be stocking it.
The price seem reasonable... especially as you can buy pico projectors at about this resolution and brightness for about the same price (we recently bought a bigger and brighter micro projector for this price).
These phones will probably take off once people realise how useful they can be (would you enjoy watching movies/TV in bed on the ceiling on the wall?)... or simply if the price drops.
:-)
if you can create piece of tech like this from scratch, then you have the right to make negative comment/s. Try to build one.
only if it could connect with a laptop and project the screen as well
watch this video and think about this technology again... http://www.ted.com/talks/pattie_maes_demos_the_sixth_sense.html
all they need to do is put projector on this phone on same side as camera and i would suggest to swap dlp led projector to laser projector to remove focus needs
Another way to mess around and say "hey look, I have a mini projector", very nice
But seriously, I think some usual projector is not too big, not too heavy to carry, not too expensive, and not much of a bother, and most importantly, it is not limited by batteries
*sorry if there is something wrong with my english
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2012They should put the projector in the Galaxy Note. It seems logical.a projector in note would have increased it thickness and would have made it even more difficult to handle
Whoever says a projector phone is epic fail, he has no real life or never worked in an office.
Whoever says a projector phone can perfectly hold two roles, you are out of touch of reality.
It's a sort of a phone that has a fancy feature that the industrial designers dream about, but never accomplished a commercial success.
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2012They should put the projector in the Galaxy Note. It seems logical. They should put the projector on the outside of the phone. An accesorry projector to be used with the phone seemed even more logical and fun.
I believe this phone serves the very purpose for the sales reps, marketing executives a lot.
Sorry to poo-poo your Samsung love in... but the first projector smartphone was made by LG (http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_gw820_expo-3040.php)
What is price in this phone?
Great idea but has a long way to go to achieve great functionality
I hope it come with very LOUD Speaker ^ ^
think. 50" Pornvideos. That would be amazing ;)
dont forget to charge this phone every hour!
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2012Nice feature, i'd love to be able to watch a huge movie in my room with this phone.oh:).wit this nHD resolution u'll enjoy big movies?:)funny guy:)
Epic fail phone
They should put the projector in the Galaxy Note.
It seems logical.
I have been critical of Samsung not offering anything really new, including the Note which I have, and in the absence of quantum software advances, this device definitely has market appeal. I do think it can have business application, but in a larger package than it is currently. It might graduate to a larger device later. Overall well done Samsung for thinking outside the box for a change
Projector phone? Epic Fail!
