HTC One X review: eXtra special

HTC One X review: eXtra special - read the full textHow about this for a rebound after a rather quiet second half of last year. A massive change of game plan sees HTC focus on a special few products instead of trying to create a smartphone for every taste. An outstanding result of this effort...

Galaxy nexus u can shoot with both 1080p and 720p at night and still looks good without any issue like galaxy s2 out of focus. I own galaxy s2, galaxy nexus and HTC sensation, yea galaxy s2 has powerfull hardwaer same as HTC sensation, but Nexus has better softwaer that doing the gob better than both phones even with some outdated hardwaer and 5 mp camera.

> In reply to [deleted post]We need something future proof for a phone something we can manage to use atleast for 2-3 years. obviously you don't get it that a 512 mb ram and an overclocked processor with an OS nobody cares for isn't cut out for it. we need something we can use to do everything not just take photos and make a phone call send a message. The symbian isn't cut out for it there isn't any reasonable softwares or games being made for it anymore and we can't live with the lags anymore. People need the best that phone is still using the amoled display when we have super amoled + available now dont tell me that amoled is more stable then the super amoled + screens.

> In reply to TC @ 2012-04-14 18:47 from 3LVk - click to readLol so why don't you stick with your great gingerbread and enjoy the real racing 2 while everyone else enjoys the latest and most stable version of android. I'm not gonna argue with you anymore this here is not the right place to hold a debate about ICS talk about the one X its positives and negatives. The one you are holding out for is completely insane nobody is gonna be promoting the gingerbread anymore end of story if you don't like it stick with whatever you like.

ICS have no really usable improvment at all over GB, it just look a different, and the task switcher is a lot worse even though it looks better because scrolling in the long list of apps in history, obs not only actually active apps, makes multitasking a lot slower/worse, and not even the "hardware acceleration" add anything better because GB is handling every game and app and movie... just as fast as ICS, and ICS uses a lot more RAM memory than GB! ICS have problems with wifi and bluetooth, and is often overheating, and ICS is very bad at Adobe Flash movies with lot of lag...! If you have not used any incompatible apps or games, try ”Real Racing 2” and try playing a flash movie in fullscreen when using Dolphin Browser Mini! 4.0.3 is still only a beta and should never have been released as a "stable" official release!
ICS is still Android, not iOS or MeeGo or..., so there should not be any reason for this many apps and games to be incompatible with ICS! ICS is a lot slower to start up than GB, try using gallery soon after restart, and ICS is very bad at handling apps installed/moved, to the sd-card and the "new" scrolling is very bad and is as if it was on ”rollers” and move in steps/jumps with no smothness ar all and user have no control because a slow scroll can suddenly jump into hyperspace without user changing speed of finger!

This phone is overkill.
Honestly, android needs some innovation, not more power or a bigger screen

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-04-14 15:15 from Hxie - click to readWell you are correct the ICS provided for sensation has it flaws as a friend of mine also had complaints about it after updating it to ICS. but with the sensation XE there was little to no problems as I myself updated and used it its an upgrade that was definitely worth it. and then the galaxy nexus camera get real its not better then the galaxy s2 even most of the reviews said that the only time it takes a gud image is in a well lit while needing to be still otherwise it looses focus and the images look bad and it gets worse when it gets to the night time I don't even wanna talk about it.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-04-14 15:18 from Hxie - click to readFirst of all its not super LCD 2 hd, its super IPS LCD 2. and then here's the 2nd part it not made by Samsung its a display made by HTC themselves they made an upgrade over the IPS LCD and called it super IPS LCD 2. If you don't know the details don't bother commenting with your false information.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-04-14 10:36 from 414J - click to readwell too bad for you I guess with the real racing 2 but I checked it out and it looks to have a less then 4 out of 5 rating so not much people are going to complain or worry about it. and the problem here is with the game developers not updating the game to support ics.

> In reply to RocknTroll @ 2012-04-14 11:49 from nC1a - click to readWell you forgot to mention the GTA III, Zen pinball ThD, Soul Craft THD, Arms II Thd, guerilla bob THD, monster madness THD, Trainz THD, Pinball HD for tegra, riptide, Big bang racing THD, Siegcraft THD and the list goes on. All those games I mentioned might not be exclusive for the tegra 3 but they are all optimized for tegra 3 with much better graphics. and here's a list of upcoming exclusive tegra games announced at the MWC 2012. These games include, Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II, Golden Arrow THD, Dark Kingdom THD, Eden to GREEEEN THD and Hamilton’s Great Adventure THD. Do u still wanna argue with me over the tegra optimized games and how it has a bright future ahead of it ????

I've had the phone for a couple of days now. Overall my impression is very positive but I'm a little disappointed with the camera. My impression is that picture quality has been sacrified for speed; both the still picture and and video taking applications are fast and snappy but image quality is merely acceptable nearing the subpar. Images are grainy/noisy, if you enlarge It just a fraction of what it appears on the phone's screen it becomes obvious. I'm not expecting DSLR quality, but I think it can be improved. If it is a software issue I hope HTC can address this with an update, I would gladly sacrifice just a bit of snappiness for better picture quality.
Otherwise the phone is awesome. When it is in my hand it feels surreal; it's so thin that it feels strange at first.
Congratulations HTC!!!

> In reply to Thornography @ 2012-04-14 06:15 from w7ia - click to readBTW i own the HTC senstion and yes HTC sensation got the ICS update and still looks like shit on it lol. Even though the Galaxy s2 with ICS update looks ugly, The camera on Nexus yes its a 5 MP vs 8 MP camera but still very good for a 5 mp camera and shooting video even better than HTC and galaxy s2 with 1080p video and 720p with way better Auto focus than galaxy s2 and sensation. BTW im in ICS 4.0.4 lot of issue fixed on it.
