> In reply to yummy @ 2012-06-10 00:40 from 49xm - click to readI also found this article good.

The writer expressed almost every thought I felt when SGS3 was released - in essence thoroughly underwhelmed and disappointed (design, quality, many specs). However he goes on to say that over time he has come to appeciate the device more an more, that its quite an amazing device in both form and function, and that his first impressions were proven wrong.

Made me realise i needed to put aside what I didn't like on paper and give the SGS3 an open minded approach in the flesh.

Granted, I have only played with it a few times in the shops. Some of my first impressions have changed for the better and some haven't.
Then chipworks dismantled it and showed it to be a lot of old tech re-hased into this device.
More to the point, outside of the expected issues seen in first releases there are a growing number of threads found online from new owners saying the device is good but far from great.

My view still remains that the S3 is not a huge leap from the S2, not how the S2 was from the S1.
Yes, I see the improvements and a lot of them...but those improvements aren't earth shattering or as good as was achievable.

I love my S2, so have no reason to rush and will wait to see how the s3 fairs over the next few months. If my views are borne out then I'll be waiting for the SGS4 and hoping that Samsung do pull out all stops to make it a great device, not just good.

> In reply to Ray M @ 2012-06-04 06:38 from vjuP - click to readBecause 4.04 wasn't released until about the time the S2 ICS update was in testing and close to realease for some markets. To Sammy's credit they waited past the 4.01 & .02 versions, and they would have been under a lot of pressure to get and ICS update out.

4.04, though better, still has it's issues.

I'm waiting for 4.05 - just hope that Sammy gets that update out quickly after Google release it.

What's wrong with the ICS update for S2 and Note, so many users reported their devices went erratic after the update. I noted that the version is not the 4.0.4 as used in S3. The ICS update is the 4.0.3, can Samsung update us why the update is not 4.0.4??

Yeah, and then it'll take 20 years for it to be updated to jellybean, which will look just like GB because of the damn ugly Touch Wiz.

I am a multi-task worker. Time is gold for me. I usually used a device that can fast track my works. I'm an S2 user. If I can afford of S4, I will buy right now. Those people who won't appreciate the the high-end device maybe their purpose of using phones is for texting and calling only. I suggest to use only the old ones like nokia 5110,any brand, he he he...
