Good job on comparing all these phones. Why have you not included the low light samples from all these phones/cameras?
IMO, comparing the low light samples would show us the real winner and not pixel peeping the images which have been taken in good lighting conditions.

awesome smartphone.. nothing more to it.

why are u sayin that pureview won because its photos are enhanced by photoshop?
why can't you just accept tge fact that pureview is really good?
Why can't you just be a little bit more sporty?
As many have commented, while the Pureview looks best in terms of overall reproduction and color accuracy, the Olympus looks best in terms of details captured and sharpness. This is anyway to be expected considering the sensor size and pedigree.
This is definitely not a good advertisement for HTC One X as the camera was touted as one of the great features there. Maybe there was a issue there also when the 16 MP camera downsized to 8 MP?
On of the links in this comments section had pointed out a comparison of the Pureview with other high end SLRs (like Nikon D800, Sony A77, Canon MIII, etc.) and how the original Pureview picture looked bad in comparison (but as a 'trick', after they brightened the mids in photoshop, it looked almost as good). Is there any way to achieve this effect/sharpness without using photoshop?
BTW, what is it that Android offers which Symbian does not? I am a business user of cell phones. You could do things in your old symbian phone which you can't do today with androids unless you install additional applications.

But, they're are far from real. The N8s pictures are still at least 5 years ahead of the iPhone 4S and GS3 here
I'm honestly super impressed with the 808. If I could get a hold of one for a non-astronomical price, I would. Symbian and all. (Never used symbian..maybe I'd like it)
what wow, 18 Jun 2012You know what ? Smart people , like me, are tired of trying to put some sense into fanboys. ... moreWhat does nokia's finances have to do with this comparison? Is that your attempt to slander them due to the 808 pureview proving itself here and beating your favorite device at something? When nokia goes bankrupt or when someone buys out nokia, will never change the fact that the pureview has a great camera and is an innovation. If anyone is being a fanboy here its you. You are rejecting the idea of accepting defeat by bringing up things irrelevant to what has happened here. Even if the pureview were to make a nikon d800 look like shit(which it won't), people like you would still come out and say, get a hasselblad instead, or say something completely irrelevant like, nokia is bleeding cash.
As per my opinion before the answers, F is clearly the best, showing the least issues of on shadows and getting most detail and clarity, then close E, then D iPhone.. after that they are pretty average.. one x looks terrible and Nokia N8 is a joke. SGS3 is ok.. but not in the same league as top 3.
You know what ? Smart people , like me, are tired of trying to put some sense into fanboys.
So i'll just say this so i can later say "i told you so". And this will be the end of it..there's just no convincing a stupid person that it's stupid.
Here it goes:
"Nokia will be bankrupt or bought by someoen else with 2 years cause nothign can save it, not Lumia, not Wp, not Pure view, not 808, Nothing can save it cause it needs to sell and these little tricks like 808 are just too little to count in a sea of android sharks. People want android on nokia. If Nokia doesnt make an android phone within 1 year, it wil run out of steam and will be history."
In the future i'll say i told you so. I can't wait.
