I'm also concerned about the screen. The original Ace had Gorilla Glass but apparently the Ace 2 doesn't (not according to Corning, anyway). I E-mailed Samsung a week ago to clarify but they haven't troubled to reply. Does the Ace have some other brand of glass protection?

I doubt Samsung will provide Jelly Bean Update to this.
Samsung doesnt put the mid range product customer as important.

I have some questions regarding this phone owing to discrepancy b/w the phones specs and the review here.
1. The screen has protection or not (review says scratch res. glass-specs hav no mention watsoever)
2. BT version-2.1(in review) or 3.0(in specs)
3.Flash support in browser(specs hav no mention-they say only HTML)
4.Ambient Light Sensor present or not?
Also all users who hav commented previously-i DO think that this phn will get ics as d video looked promising & reliable enough n google has promised that jb will be a step towards ending defragmentation meaning every phone that has ics will be capable of running jb
Now to the gsmarena team- some recent news suggested that adobe flash was taken off store. now as i haven't got a droid b4 idk what effect it will hav on this phn
will this phn ship with flash or do v hav 2 download it frm d play store?

> In reply to [deleted post]1. I rather take GB than "official" uncooked ICS.

2. Design of Xperia U looks hideous for the most, unless you are a gay.

3. It's a same dual core.

4. Xperia U has no sd card slot and it is the deal breaker for the majority.

But let's wait and see what executives at Scamsung think of their customers. ;)

A sincere request to the GSMArena team. It would be really nice if you could contact Samsung and get an official confirmation if this phone will EVER get ICS or Jelly Bean (and if yes, in this year or not).

Because the community modding scene for Novathor U8500 chipset has been DEAD. No custom ROMs. And I'm not expecting any for this for a long time at least. So it would be really nice to not be stuck to an ANCIENT 1 and half year old OS when paying so much.

Typical samdung fanboys. The build quality of this compared to the Sony handsets mentioned isn't even worth a second of extra thought: the Xperia U trumps it in every respect. Add to this the fact that samsung will never update the phone beyond gingerbread and it becomes a no brainer.

When will it arrive at markets? It's been announced a loooong time ago. Why are they so late in the launching and availability?

If this is sold at 15k INR same as Xperia U, then it makes sense to get this phone.
