Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean review: Bread and butter

I manually updated my s3 to jelly bean yesterday as I couldn't be bothered waiting for the ota update... this thing is a beast now...so much faster and smoother, battery life much improved , more personalizations Widgets etc... seems like it's free'd up about 250mb of ram also..
People saying ics owned jb in benchmark do not have a clue... geekbench went from already being the highest (1855)

"Now it will be able to extend its advantage over its quad-core rivals, which are yet to receive the latest version of Android." ....
"The Galaxy S III is now the only Android flagship smartphone to have the Jelly Bean goodies and time works in its favor."
Sad to say, GSMA only consider hTC, LG, Motorala and Sony as S3's rivals. If they consider Xiaomi Mi-Two as rival of S3 then those statements above should be edited. Xiaomi Mi-Two packs quad-core S4 pro and runs Jelly Bean out of the box.

Project [tryhidelag] butter seems to have bloated it.

Now That's got to suck.

Too bad that we see a lot of "just like IOS6" concerning Blocking Mode.
You could have said instead : just like "many of these auto-profiles apps from Google Play market" (Phoneweaver / Settings Profiles / etc..), that i have been using for almost 2 years now.
I know it's a review site but that shows some missing knowledge about Android platform and hence all those references about IOS and its so large/ questionable catalog.

I think you are right when you say "you just get to enjoy the novelties".
There is no real new software. It is all to do with the speed of an experience.
This suggests Android is peaking in terms of real innovation, and whilst I have a Note 1 which is a great camera and good for one on one presentations, and discounting the odd web browsing, there is nothing in Android unless you are a gaming freak.
There is too much emphasis of synthetic benchmarks or so called customisation but no real spectacular software developments.
Come on Google. You are getting boring.

> In reply to BananaMan @ 2012-10-01 21:59 from s3Jc - click to readTrue that. Gaming/graphics performance will be a tad worse. However, it's mainly due to Project Butter, which will make the perceived smoothness in everything else better. The new features alone are a worthy reason to upgrade. Hope an Office documents viewer is coming soon enough.
