Nokia N80 review: Jack of all trades

Nokia N80 review: Jack of all trades - read the full textN80, one of the latest Nokia handsets, hit the market about 20 days ago and surely it made some big waves along the way. The phone comes in a place of very high class business phones with bunch of features and extras. It features a very good 3 megapixel camera, a hi-resolution display, a miniSD card slot, a FM radio and all this is backed up by advanced connectivity technologies such as quad-band GSM, 3G UMTS, EDGE, and Wi-Fi.

Try to make the firmware upgrade & the SMS accelerator from the following link:
http://europe.nokia.com/A4149134

if you are facing the sms delay problem, it will be solved after you do this.

enjoy :)

This is the Best mobile phone by far. It has the most functions a phone can have. Any other phone that lives upto this ones standards (eg. LG with its 5Megapixel camera) looks awefully UGLY ! This is the most advanced all in one handset with a host of features. Not even the N73 is as good as this mate, cause only thing good about the N73 is the autofocus - furthermore it has lower quality screen, NO WI-FI / UPNP, aweful joystick and its rather big and bulky when carrying in your pocket, whereas the N80 is a little thicker but feels 10 times smaller. N80 is the King of all Mobiles !

TO EVERYONE WITH THE AUTOMATIC KEYLOCK PROBLEM:

go to Series60v3.Com and download:

1. Handykelock - can set the default to automatically lock the phone when slider is closed. Can set a default time for automatic keylock if phone is idle (but only 1 minute idle time onwards)

2. Autolock - Can set a default time for automatic keylock if phone is idle even if just for 10 seconds (you can set whatever default time)

As for me, i downloaded both: the handykelock so that the phone will automatically lock when i close the slider. And the autolock so that i can set the auto keylock to lock after 10 seconds idle time.

Use you Nokia PC Suite "install application" function when installing the following software because its much easier. When prompted for security concerns just click allow or yes. Ive used these apps for a month now and now problems whatsoever.

thanks.

This is a brilliant phone.

I changed to this after getting very bored with my old P900. Im having no problems at all with the shift.

Having kept a Nokia 3230, the Symbian speed is simply awesome.

The look is pretty good, and with the slider closed its much smaller than all the N-series, and with almost half useable in closed mode. Looks nice, consturction quality is good.

Loudspeaker is indeed very loud, but the music player with the headphones leaves something to be desired. But then, being used to an Ipod ... I really cant argue.

I have had the N80 for about 3 months now and no reveiws told me that this phone is so slow and glichy. The slide action on the phone has become loose and it feels like its going to fall apart any second. I am so disapointed in this phone that ive reverted back to my W810i. As soon as im able to upgrade the W850i is going to be the choice for me.

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the 3rd generation symbian OS. There is a lot of customizability with the N70 and its version of symbian. Does anyone have any concerns about the lack of compatability with previous versions of the UI? It means that a lot of software isn't going to be usable on the N80.

Nokia N80 shows that it can be an adequate competitor and far exceeded our initial expectations even without the Carl Zeiss logo and the autofocus lens. Overall it is a better imaging device than Nokia N90 and Sony Ericsson K750. Nokia N80 also wins in the video capturing department.
