Google Nexus 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy S III: Fan favorites - read the full textAndroid devices come from all walks of life, but in each generation there is a "chosen one". In 2012, it's the Nexus 4 and, as an overall package, this is probably the best Google has ever delivered. Yet, by a mean twist of fate, it has the most formidable...

Personally, I think the n4 is better, more ram, faster processor, better graphics unit and in most reviews agree better screen. Newer is are ALWAYS better and this phone will run at least the next 4 which you can imagine will be amazing while s3 will be stuck on jellybean. The screen and camera will improve with software fixes, as someone has already doubled the bitrate of 1080p video capture making it THE best.

If its the sales figures, you're talking about; yes, S3 might have a chance. But if you talk about innovation, features and creativity brought to the plate, S3 is not the best in the business. L920 packed more features than S3 and if Nokia had android running in it, nobody would give a rat's ass about Sammy's offering. Wake up to reality kid. S3 is a great phone, but best of 2012 in every aspect, you must be day dreaming.

maybe this was the last fight for galaxy s3 for this year,,and it managed to rule 2012 by a clear win against nexus 4,s3 is the only phone which was compared with htc one x,lg optimus 4x,apple iphone 5,lg optimus g,htc one x+ ,nokia lumia 920, and s3 beats them all, thats why its called "smartphone of the year",,

I have both phones, to be honest the Nexus 4 runs way smoother than the S3, also modern combat 4 doesnt lag at all, the desing of the N4 is awesome just gorgeous, Im not sure but sometimes I want to sell my Galaxy S3...
Something that really piss me is the cheap plastic of the S3 case, is already scratched... Samsung needs to improve his cases materials

I think I'll stick to the Nexus 4 and sell the S3, the s3 is a great phone but the Nexus 4 gives you better user experience... Thats all

Standing neck to neck with a newly released device itself is pure win for s3(remember it was released half a year ago)LG is desperate to bring a winner, Samsung already 've a winner.next year they fight to beat s4..

nexus 4 is a joke in my country coz its price(16 gb version + headphone, not included in box) is higher than S3 here... the introduction of nexus 4 boosted up sales of S3...

I Will Go For Google Nexus 4 As It Is Made For Future Faster Processor Than S3(28nm Compare 32nm) And 2 GB Of Ram Instead Of 1 GB In S3 . Will Get Fast Android Updates As Every Android Device Except Nexus Devices Get Android Updates After At least 2-3 Months Even More. Not To Mention The Price US$350 Compare To US$600.

The argument should be: Is the S3 better than two nexus 4 because thats what you get for the price.

> In reply to peter @ 2012-12-21 20:38 from 0ByH - click to readI will counter you on that. Samsung has made great efforts in the past uears, especially with the Galaxy series, to make usable and versatile phones. I currently own an S2 and an S3 because I use two phone numbers and Galaxy Series Samsung are perfect. I can sync my contacts, messages, accounts and data between phones, PC and laptop with little effort. They are goog business-work phones. On top of that, the S3 in particular has a very good camera (mind you, don`t compare it to DSLRs) with lots of useful features. The ones I use most are touch focus an simultaneous HD video recording and photo snapping. But the botton line is: usability and features. If you need a good all-roun phone, then the S3 is definetly one of the top choices.

The nexus is a fine device. But the lack of OTG prevents me from buying it.

The point of a lock screen is so that you don't accidentally launch an app. On the SGS3 you need to swipe the icon up to launch it from the lock screen. Its great for things like cameras and torches where u need them quickly.

i noticed that gsmarena LOOOOVEE lockscreen shortcuts these days.. its even a main disadvantage for them now. if you want shortcut fast just turn off your lockscreen then put all your most needed in the 1st homescreen.

Good article by gsmarena... Good to see them putting winners on each section.

Apart from screen brightness I think the SGS3 is the winner hands down..... But it's still not even close to the galaxy Note 2 :-)

I havent finished reading the article yet but have 1 comment.
Gsmarena says that stock android is better... I owned the nexus 10 for a while and have the note 2 as well and the Samsung os is all over the stock google os. There are a lot of extra options and features in the Samsung version of the software. . That said... I can't stand touch wizz so normally run go launcher.
