Its a great article.
You should have given a tool for improving the performance of the phone.
Now I had a HTC wildfire and Lenovo P700i. Its always a struggle to manage memory. I install a programme, run it, then move to other application, its remain in memory. I kill the app and/or service, it still come back after sometime.
I also have a Nokia 710 with same ram as P700i, I rarely faces memory full issues like lagging, slower response.
Is there a solution (free and no rooting involved) where, one a process is killed, it does not automatically starts?

I like android a lot. But finally traded in my galaxy 7.7 because of no promised upgrade. And each time it tried to push, I lost the use of some apps. Could no longer get yahoo, for example.
