Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom preview: First look

Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom preview: First look - read the full textJust taking the photo won't do these days - you'll want to edit and share it, then rake in the likes. Except most cameras pretty much bail out at the snapshot. Not the Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom though, a hybrid of a point-and-shoot with...

Before saying Samsung copying Nokia's PureView, Samsung already made a cameraphone with optical zoom before Nokia 808 PureView. =)

You better show somedamn RESPECT for NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW and NOKIA EOS..they are the Godfathers in camera and build quality of all others phones.. Even the 7yrs old NOKIA N95 8gb has got guts to standup against HTC One and even beat it in many areas...if you don'tbelieve me then go check it out !!!.. I've been using Nokia 808 pureview for about 10 months and the camera quality still blows other phone like iphone 5, bb z10, s4, galaxy camera, and every othetr phone in the world and no company has got the guts and technology to make a phone that can stand up against Godfathers like Nokia 808 pureview ..forget about Nokia EOS , it is even better than 808 p.v. time be careful..

The funny thing Nokia 808 PV still has the bigger sensor and better loosely zoom without pixels.

For a photo maniac like me, first impression was:
Ok, Not so bad in terms of mobility and bulkiness, if it has nice image Quality.

But it hasn't! Looking for a long time the photo samples and the photo/video comparison tools, I see much of lens problems, as well as jpeg algorithm problems. 150 Euro slimmer cameras do it better.
The concept seem like a twin to the galaxy camera, but the latter has nicer iq with better contrast and details in the photo files. S4 Zoom images are so "mushy" and it's getting worst in low light photo/video frames.
If they've only put the (allround good enough for casual/street photography) S4 sensor in the zoom, then things could be adequate for an imaging phone. And I really may have bought it!!!

Another way for Samsung to go, could be:
A fast 4X zoom lens (slimmer of phone too!)
The original S4 photo sensor
Better jpeg algorithm
Raw capability
Dual core, 2 gb ram is ok
Tripod screw on the bottom.
For 400usd / 350 euros retail price, would be a hit!

I'm a user of N8 and 808 (and low end android phones), but as you can see, I'm not obsessed with anything than image quality.
There's no perfect phone, not even a perfect camera. The specs, the target group and the prices are so decided, from the marketing dept of the manufacturers...

And despite having optical zoom, the 808 will put more details in the images. Thanks to this ugly device, the 808 looks slimmer. haha
