> In reply to JRF @ 2010-03-17 21:47 from LXQnThanks for the reply JRF. this is abit odd because I can use internet over wifi or mobile internet on any phone, currently i have a htc hero. i dont understand why BIS is required for FB, I thought it was only for services like BB push email etc. mind you she does have a contract at the moment and think shes got internet package on it too, cant she use that monthly mobile internet on this BB?

> In reply to Hero @ 2010-03-17 20:04 from 3aT}Without BIS she will basically just be able to send SMS and send/recieve calls and use the internet over wifi. The FB app is only usable with BIS, not sure why they changed that since it used to be able to connect via wifi. And that's basically all the features she'll get.

Hi, i've never used a BB and am not too fond of them but my girlfriend would like one and as her BDay is coming up, i might get her this Bold 9700 as it seems to be teh best BB around. I read the review and it says that without a blackberry internet sevice it's pointless getting one. so if i buy this phone without a contract what services am i not going to get? she doesnt use email but has a facebook account and usually only uses sms.

> In reply to fonk @ 2010-03-16 20:47 from 32M$i saw the link so the higher the SAR value the more hazardous it will be for our health. that's scary.
its good that mine is made in Hungary therefore it falls under the SAR EU which is 1.36 W/kg (head) 1.18 W/kg (body), much lower than the one sold in the US.

"SAR (specific absorption rate) is an indication of the amount of radiation that is absorbed into a head whilst using a cellular phone, the higher the SAR rating the more radiation that is absorbed into the head." http://www.sarvalues.com/what-is-sar.html
"The FCC requires that phones sold have a SAR level at or below 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg) taken over a volume of 1 gram of tissue."
BB 9700 1.55W/kg (head)
Iphone 3GS 0.26W/Kg (head)
Nokia N900 0.92W/kg (head)
