i ve been using android for a while and its fun, but i just want to try something differnt in dis phone like porting android OS or the meego OS and do some dualbooting but i want to know if there is facebook app or whatsapp cos i also use dis alot

Skype is part of the Maemo operating system. You don't have to install a separate Skype app on that phone. You will need to put your Skype account as an account for "Internet Calls" through the Settings, as described on pages 56 and 57 in the N900 manual PDF:

Once you do that, and when you're online (WiFi or 3G/3.5G data from your mobile phone carrier), you get new options. When calling someone from your Contacts, you will see options to place the call either over the mobile phone network or Skype. When using the dialer to manually enter the call, there is a button above the dialer where you can select how to place the call (mobile phone network, or Skype).



When using Skype, you will have to put the numbers in using the + followed by the country code, area/city code, etc. - even if you are calling a number that is local to you. If you do this for the numbers stored in your Contacts, then you don't have to worry about that no matter how you place calls. Mobile phone networks should know how to handle dialing a local number even if you are using the international format including the + and country code, and Skype obviously can handle that.

Though I dont know about Preenv,
but I'm sure WebOS manager works fine.

What you can do is clean WebOs Manager by uninstalling. Delete all the games directory in there and then again make a fres install of it and load ipk files. I'm sure it will work. Its just some path settings that got disturbed, AFAIK.

hi,

i have just updated my h/s to latest ver. version21.2011.38-1.002.. but now when im tryin to get instal preenv ,, its not hapnin,, and also after enabling all the repositories from App mangr, i cannot see webos manager to download,,, is this ver. good or i have to get back to the old ver.

pls help ,, i wana get the webos games back on ma N900...

if hardik or other N900 experts there, may kno what im taking abt.. i realy need my N900 back in action,,,

hey i need some expert help...
i have updated my h/s,, but i need to get webos games workin,,
i tried to instal preenv but its not hapenin..
its givin me an error
as invalid operation instal.

and i tried enablin all the repository,, there no wgames available at all in the appmanger...

please can someone help me..

Be aware that after little over 1 year the phone will have a communication error and cannot call / be called, etc. Our repair guy now has 5 of these phones in the shop with the same problem. And it is not easy to solve. So I would not recommend this phone anymore. And it is heavy...

Where can I download games ?
I've treid many time in the app manager but when I open it, the games is such a **** , can't play anything !! please help me how and where to download games :( it also doesnt accept JAR file :(
