i have it second-hand, using for ~1.5 year. The phone for its features is very good, using skype ,office, ebook reader, opera- it is ok. it fits the necessities of a business PPC.stays in hand well and i like it much.
As for the minuses-battery drains in a day/day and a half - depends on the talk time. GPS- connects slowly (it is available for Ukraine,Moldova, Austria- donot now why). The volume of the buzzer(=ring) is not so as wished(quiet).

I am in Uganda and I have so far used two of these phones, they are very durable, relaible but the battry takes away the groove. To overcome the dying battery problem I bought a charge cradle but didn't help much.

My problem with 914c is that 3G and GPRS is spending my money from my account (5E just this night) and 15E few days ago. The thing is that in settings for data session don't allows me to disconnect automatic connection.
In fact,I'm not apsolutelly shure what's wrong but is spending money from acount as soon I put some credit on my card.

Other than this, phone is slow, batery very poor and I have it only because is gift. Is there some simple link for win6.5 downloading and installation on phone?

I've been tech support with HP and had the misfortune to be assigned to support ipaq's.
The only resolution advised for all issues was a hard reset (press a certain key combo to start OS format and reinstall).
If that does not work, book for repair.
Sorry guys. Ipaq's were regarded a the lost stepchild of Compaq's merger with HP. They were the Republic and we the Sith. Any other comments are best left unsaid.

I have had the mobile (914c hp ipaq) for less than a year now, and some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. I went to replace the mobile as it was still under warranty, and was replaced by another DEFECTIVE 914c which I was told that it was new. Really disappointed by this hp product.

It has no long life of the battery and the sound is really low, which removes all the desires and the beauty of it!

I have used iPAQ 910c for over a year now. I think I can safely call it a toy... A really "cheap" low quality TOY. First the keys around the edges (Q,A, Fn,Shift,.,Return key,Backspace key, and P) stopped responding. You necessarily have to use the Styllus if you need to make an input. Battery duration is poor, as everyone knows by now. But charging it now takes forever... almost a full 8-hr day to get up to 80-90% via the USB. Charging direct via AC adapter probably takes longer! CRAP!!!

> In reply to teo @ 2010-04-19 03:03 from m94A - click to readThe Iphone is a great toy. My wife has one. But it really lacks features when you need it for business. It doesn't even come standard with MS Office. It doesn't have a user friendly keyboard for people with big fingers (like me, I hate touch screens and with Iphone you can't get a Bluetooth keyboard and you can't even use a stylus or your finger nail with it) and it took me a long time to upload anything besides music, podcast, videos and pictures that really distract you from work. I tried to put some PDF files on her phone and it's really cumbersome. It doesn't even have a root directory or a program like the explorer. The 3G didn't even support AD2P to listen music with bluetooth stereo headphones and even the 3GS doesn't support all the bluetooth protocols. I wanted to send my wife a business card via Bluetooth from a dinky little Nokia phone and it wouldn't even accept that.
Like I said if you want to play and have no clue how to really use a computer get an IPhone!! It's simple and even you grandma can figure it out. Great tool/toy for those kind of people. However if you need something for business and like to have some flexiblity because you are a little technically inclined and know what else is possible get a pocket PC. I can't even start to tell you how easy it is to use the Iphone and how frustrated I get when I run into its limits all the time. It's definitely like a model T (one size fits all, like Ford's great words you can have a car any color as long as it is black)
