I think I prefer the Gigabyte g-Smart S1200 to the Diamond2. I don't like that they made the Diamond2 thicker and bigger than the original Diamond. The s1200 is very slick, thin and rounded.

Sure, the S1200 only has 128 mb RAM, but on the other hand - it has camera with FLASH.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary here. I'm happy with my Diamond Thanks to "Dutty Throy's Rom"..
Not much of an upgrade here, Other than:
- Camera
- Battery Life
- Screen Size 480 X 800 "Wider"

I won't need the rest of the 1.8MP, Battery Life is fine 2 - 3 days.
I would like a bigger screen though.
Other than that i would rather wait for the new 6.5 rom for my diamond and we might as well get the "diamond 2" interface from the best cooks around.

P.S. Would go for the the "Pro 2" if necessary. =)

The Touch Screen is classic- means resistive.

At least they have done the two main thing in terms of spec, Battery Life, And the screen. The camera did not really need to get pumped up to 5mp but al is good. LETS JUST HOPE ITS CHEAP!

Every upgrade addresses almost all the minuses of the first Diamond. HTC seems to have paid attention to what users wanted. The only missing detail is a 3.5mm audio jack, they kept their proprietary jack, but this probably was a limitation imposed by mostly using the old platform. A later WinMo 6.5 update will be welcome. A next possible WinMo 7 update would be amazing.

why did HTC drop the five way navigation key it used to be so much fun to zoom in to websites in opera by spining our finger around it..they have added a zoom bar to compensate though..

A shame it still does not have a flash. That is the one thing holding this phone back compared to Sony and other multimedia phones.

yeah.... twice the rom and ram! that had to be the only problem with the original diamond... having a UI wrapper over WM6.1 made it soooo slow! even maxing out the page cashe and others it was still slow! but it does look very good though!!
