im so sury for you dear david because i think u cant use this magical phone at japan
because aura is
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
and japan support UMTS 2100 :

but for Cretain u must ask from japane's market

So it's not about me having used improperly the phone, it's about a fault in conception and materials usage.
