the KRZR K1m that now available in korea has the best of all krzrs. 2mp camera, QVGA screens, Adobe Flash UI, external touch controls, more internal memory and a bigger battery that should give times comparable to long lasting American K1m.

I am trying to upgrade my phone and wanted to get an opinion on the Motorola KRZR K1 phone. Anyone have a user opinion?

Cool Down people. Sorry I started a heated discussion. But it always gets a debate to get to the bottom of a subject. Thanks for sharing all the info.I didn’t made up anything in my posting to show my hatred towards moto. Its all there on the internet

yes that SPH-N2000 was a bar phone. I didn’t say Samsung had the idea to make a slim clamshell in 2001. That model didn’t create any impact as we know. My point was by then they know how to make a thin phone. Period.
Is it abnormal to raise a question about Motorola who never made a thin phone, suddenly came up with the thinnest clamshell??? I wanted to know the story behind it. Coz there rest of the design looks way way different, RAZR looks as if someone else designed it.

It takes few designer and engineers who think differently to come up with a concept and fight their way up to the boss to get it approved by the decision makers. With what Samsung knew by 2003 they could have done that pretty well. So hats off to Moto razr team. All credit goes to Motorola for creating a sensation.

I never said CDMA is a big market..but truely they enjoy more advanced features than GSM. Why you kept on showing figures and talking about Samsung going down. Samsung doesn’t cater to low-end market like Nokia and Moto does. Now that doesnt mean moto's market share comes from low end phones. Dont get me wrong. But yes still Samsung is not into all segments. When they do it will be a different figures to look at. They are not just a phone company you know that and you are saying they might go bankrupt. how absurd…. and yes I did said I loved the KARZ design.

No I don’t need any help about moto phones. I was looking for the reasons behind Razr’s creation. And to me moto will always be Ford not Merc's, BM's, Ferrari's and razr the Mustang.

just thought id add...just been reading through my companys lead store's figures and this is how many handsets were sent out last month

The only difference of Samsung and Motorola is that Motorola phones are more iconic than Samsung. Nearly all the Samsung are the same old black type. Don't believe ? Go to your nearest mobile shop and see for youself.

Because of Motorola's iconic design, every phone manufacturer( I hope Nokia will lose soon) loses no matter what!

Anyway, why argue?
If u like Samsung , go buy it lah!
If u like Motorola , go buy it lah!

And Samsung is an electronic company ( they produce camera too!), not a phone manufacturer.That's why they can make a 10 megapixel phone!

No need to fight!

Richard and Moto 2 little, u two are the best!

Keep on supporting Motorola, let it overtake Nokia!

WHAT??? yes the samsung phones that you have listed have the same design. why change a proven design? why not just keep it and spend your money on making the phone better? i think thats what moto tried to do but instead the kept the same design but didnt improve the phone! krzr better than the v3x??

kal is speaking through facts, please dont insult this with your narrow minded opinions. yes moto is a good manufacturer and they do make good phones, but why spend your hard earned cash on a phone that hasnt got the best features that you require?? if you where viewing real estate would you spend the same amount of money on a flat as you would a house just because the flat is the same as your old one? or would you buy the house bigger and better. 1 bedroom instead of 4, small kitchen instead of one where you can actually cook, cooped in or space to breath?? krzr vs d900... 2mpx instead 3.2, 176 x 220 pixels instead of 240 x 320 pixels, bluetooth instead of v2 bluetooth shall i go on?
i know there are alot of moto obsessives around, i love them, they make me alot of money but compared to other manufacturers they dont really contest.

the internet is full of mis-information. i tend not to believe the 'marketing' or 'hype' for different companies but tend to believe the facts that i get from the actual maufacturers.
if motorola can conceed they didnt create the phone first, why the hell should i believe your 'information'. before you go round saying other peoples information is incorrect why not check your 'facts'.

and where did i get my information??? well i got it at a function where BOTH Samsung and motorola attended (with other manufacturers) and in seperate meetings they both (as you expect) defended there own corner and also tried to produce documents proving them right. but when we had a dual meeting with the 2, motorola went really quite and samsung didnt even have to argue before motorola conceeded the arguement.

to put it one way Richard... PLEASE GET CORRECT FACTS

1 more thing to KAl.. IF SAMESONG continues with its 10mpx CCd EV-DO wadeva crap.. they will be bankcrupt one day.. Look at its price dude.. $2000? go buy a laptop dude.. I hope samesong make more of these phones and eventually bankrupt lol.. Moto is going the public way, to sell phones at an affordable price.. PPLe keep complaining y are MOTOS phones price dropping so fast?? so as to get more consumers.. If theres a huge demand, there will be a huge revenue..

KAl, try to take an economic course, it is good for u..

Last of all, KRZR is a good designed phone, and Mr kal, i sincerely hope that u sholdnt be prejudice against MOTO phone.. If u love SE phones, get back to ur SE phone forum and not by provoking WE the Moto supporters in this KRZR section..

and where is this coming from? please post your links on that instead of the LG part. show me the article about how samsung had the idea first. give me some quotes from samsung employees who claim they had the idea first.

you're basing the idea on the fact that they had slim phones? mindless conjecture if i ever saw it. many phone makers in asia from sharp to panasonic to sanyo had those thin candybars phones. does that mean they all created the razr first and were sitting on it as well? bullcrap!

they had thin greyscale screen phones with horrible battery life due to unperfected engineering. they all had short lives on the market. it was motorola who turned thin phones into something livable! it was motorola who put the color lcd screen, the bluetooth and speakerphone all in one stylish clamshell package! slim -and- functional with an actual battery! now after these other phone people dissect razr and find out what moto did, they copycat. peddle your jargon elsewhere.

motorola's cdma marketshare has been next to nothing but is steadily climbing from new phones such as razr V3c and Q. they had no cdma gameplan but that has changed, they're building from scratch instead of running away like cowardly nokia. their marketshare was limited because they weren't on one of the two american cdma carriers, Sprint! how can you get anywhere like that?

but guess what buddy, MOTO IS TAKING SPRINT BY STORM BY THE END OF THIS YEAR! that's right, the BIG M is RETURNING to SPRINT!

YES they had the idea and call it stupidity or whatever, Samsung WAS and IS sitting on it. Forget about 2003, They had a 9.8mm phone SPH-N2000 in 2001..thats 2 years before even moto think of anything in that thin line. Of course I ackowledge that Motorola has a gerat marketing team. Samsung always try out their best phones in Korea. Some of them never reach the rest of the world. Those lucky Koreans are enjoying the most advanced features for long time..be it 10MP, 3x optical zoom, 10GB HD phones, DMB tech, HSDPA not to mention EV-DO WCDMA, thats like 12mbps....of course now you will say those are not GSM... My point is those features and technologies are already there and its actually getting old. Its GSM who is catching up. If you cant take it..go get some fresh air.

The first impression we all have about Samsung is..its a korean company and that immediately remind us of Huyndai Cars. But when it comes to cell phone technology its quite OPOSITE. Korea and Japan are lightyears ahead in that field. These days when Nokia annouces N series some folks go crazy and claim it be the BEST phone ever...And when those lazy marketing guys at Samsung finally will decide to lauch their best phones worldwide, I'm sure some people will be screamming loud that samsung is copying N series. Those koreans or Japanese will laugh their a$$ off if they read it.

that was "Hmmm's comment but I'm sure he was talking about CDMA not GSM....and YES, LG took over Motorola in US CDMA market for quite some time now..and that is in motorol's homeland US..moto comes 4th in CDMA by the way....well its not GSM.So leave it, but it is a bit shame. Do I need to add some links to read on?

About LG and SE..there are confliting report..according to some sources LG is little ahead of SE. Not sure which one to believe. Even your Redherring link shows they both holds 7% in 2006 2Q.

To those with their facts right and know what they're talkin about... ignore those who hate on the original aka Motorola... but instead show love to the imitators... aka LG, Samesong etc...

Just beats me how they go on and on and on yet they make no impact... put down false info... and yet the moderators on here just let the info be.

Ya'll know how it goes... more money more problems... razr brought so much more money and moto users that the haters are so hurt they wanna put it down every chance they get.

To KAL. First of all, SAME song, i mean samsung is a copycat. COpied LG's chocolate, copy Motos V3, copied Moto Q.. Samsung is a huge liar with a bad UI. Moto is the original designer of V3 so if they continue it with K1, it is absolutely ok. Moto's shares rose from 15% to 23%. what bout same song? they dropped to 13% What a bad investment for samsung. Samsung= a big copy cat. Bad samsung, bad korean company
