> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-09-26 08:48 from w4BRI got this phone 2 weeks ago, and it already crashed. The highlights are mainly the large screen size, and the texting is not too bad in chinese or english. The downside is the phone is awkward to use, and many of the settings are upsettingly uncustomizable, namely the alarm clock and sound settings. The analog clock is annoying, and the lack of call/hangup buttons is an inconvenience. The battery sucks too.

bought one of these in Shanghai the other day for around 2600 RMB (~$380). Very smooth operator compared to Chinese multiple sim card phones. Feels quality. But bulkier and heavier than say a RAZR. Loaded with features! Downside remarks are that predictive text in English is somewhat primitive. Can't capitalize a word by hitting shift - need to toggle between low case and upper case T9 english options. what a pain! now on day 3 of trying to synch phonebook data in Moto Phonetools V5 to VE75. I think i'll hire a chinese student to input manually.

With a battery of this capacity it will be awful , the standby time will be something like 2 days.
I have a dual-sim Chinese CECT phone and while it's rather bulky it has a huge battery ( 1800 mAh I think ) that last for like 7 days with 2 cards at the same time. Oh and it also has a 3 inch touchscreen display but it doens't like as good as this one I have to admit nor does it have have.
Still I think Motorola and Samsung should take a look and learn a few things from the Chinese when making dual-sims. They have some experience and good ideas.

It shouldn't be too bad, as it's running MotomagX. Like the z6, e8, zn5, etc...

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-08-08 22:36 from mX3qSo where did you get your statistics regarding the return rate of V3? Or are you suggesting my own experience being shared here earlier being totally false?
..as though I have never owned any V3, I've owned many of its variations...V3maxx/V3maxx i-mode, V6, and none of them has any major problem throughout the years, as I still have "all" of them operational right now.

> In reply to JK @ 2008-08-03 18:33 from M3s@i know the return rates for the v3, i think 40% of the amount sold since its launch 3YEARS AGO, are still in use, however, it has the biggest return rate of any phone in the history of mobile phones.
this just shows, motorola arent really good with phones, i know i know, they were the first makers, but times have moved on, phones are getting thinner, with 8mp, and nobody really buys, or sells motorola.
i know motorola were good when they came out because they dominated the market, but they certainly lost their touch when other makes started evolving.
but it wasnt that long ago that motorola were officially looking for a buyer for their cell phone production company, and i still dont think they have one. this just shows, nobody, and i mean nobody, wants to own motorola the company, let alone a motorola phone!
i rest my case!
