It will say "No update available" if you go through the menus on the phone itself and press "check for updates" or whatever there. However if you go to Samsung's website for the sII and download their "Kies" software for your laptop (not the same as Kies Air which came with the phone - a fully functional version) then once that's installed (which also can be a bit of a beyatch, it's not the best software) you simply plug your phone in via USB, it'll perform an online check and see if Ice Cream Sandwich is available - which it is - and will then offer you the chance to upgrade your firmware, which can take about half an hour to an hour. It's well worth it! Worked for me, phone (white I9100P) was really sluggish and disappointing for the first week, then updated and all is groovy. Hope that helps potential Gingerbread leavers. Tom x

> In reply to Babara @ 2012-05-27 21:02 from Kxtf - click to readMy Wave S8500 has 720p fixfocus video recording and yes the night videos are good.
So it is an interesting idea with the GS2 to switch from fullHD autofocus to VGA fixfocus recording at night. But then what is the point of having fullHD capability, if you have to downgrade to VGA, like any dumbphone ?
There is probably other options to get fixfocus in GS2, with scenery mode maybe?
Want try Xperia P, heard the Exmor sensor is good at night.

> In reply to ananthparida @ 2012-05-28 05:36 from PSL6 - click to readIt might be the problem of the charging module of the phone. I had the same problem of showing charging sign on the task bar even after removing from charging.
So if your phone is still in warranty then get it changed from the service centre. I got it changed for free.

Hello All,
I bought S2 about a Year Back. It has started giving problems. After i just remove my cell from charging, it does not show that the cell is disconnected from the power supply. Moreover, it keeps on connecting in USB Mode. After sometime, S2 connects to the Voice Command application automatically for around about 20-30 times. I have to either exit the application or restart the phone. This series of actions happens every time i connect it to Charging. @All : Please Suggest what to Do.
Many Thanks!!!

> In reply to badap @ 2012-05-27 13:20 from YTZb - click to readBecause the GS2 HD video works with continuous autofocus, at low light conditions, the frame rate and sharpness is terrible. Just switch to SD mode (640x480) and the problem is solved. No more frame rate or sharpness issuses. (SD video of GS2 has infinity focus)
