as an answer to your second question, yes, there is an option in atrix switching from 3g to 2g. it is preferable to switch to 2g to save battery if you're using wifi connection always.

Yesterday bought the phone and upgraded to 2.3.4 ....Must say its damn fast ... Too fast.... But the front camera quality is not so Good...... I mean very bad can't see anything... Otherwise its an Awesome device
