My backflip is running Android 2.1, now i want to upgrade to 2.3, but i can't root my phone, anyone help me plz, my phone is at&t version

If you own a Backflip and it has restarting, lag, hangups or any other problem that makes the phone unusable, I've got GOOD NEWS FOR YOU:

1- Root the phone.
2- Flash the recovery to J_r0dd's recovery 2.0
3- Install a custom ROM. I STRONGLY recommend GINTECH's Deblurred v2.2.

It really improves battery life and adds some reeeeally cool features to the phone. And most importantly: It makes the phone 500% faster. I'm not joking. It's working like a charm. It feels like a completely new phone. But I must warn you: These amazing improvements are mostly due to the removal of most blur application (DEblurred). They make the phone laggy as hell and I did not use them anyway. So go on and google these things.
There are lots of tutorials and youtube videos explaining the procedure. Still, do it at your own risk. It might mess up the phone really bad, if you get it wrong. But it is really worth it.

my backflip heats up and ts very hot near the battery then it switches off automaticaly cant even access the net or the android service bcoz of the switching off pliz help

In my experience, since I usually add facebook, gmail & twitter, the mobile integrates all contacts into it's own. So imagine 1000 facebook friends being loaded everytime you try to open your add book, call a person, recv a call, send or rcv a txt. And there are just basic functions being affected regardless if you're on line or not.

No ways. Dis phone is nonsence wen it cums to bluetooth thing. Cnt get it done, even the manual is nt even open as per advice.
