So during a call your face will touch that key and then put the phone on mute. You can turn mute off again - just touch the button again. Its a TERRIBLE design mistake they made. Just make sure that when you call, the lower part of the screen does not touch your face. Or use a headset. I really dont know how it got released with that issues, it drove me crazy till I found out what the problem was.
