1. take the screen protector off, or cut top right-hand corner of the screen protector so that it will not cover the proximity sensor
2. reconfigure the sensitivity of the sensor by following K's guide (you will find it either in this or previous page)

I would like to know what operating system LG GC900 uses, it doesn't say in the spec sheet, symbian or windows. I have had 4 Nokia n97s in 3 weeks, so far, they are just dreadful.

i have a LG Viewty Smart and when someone calles, my screen turns black and i can't see anything more. I try to push on severall buttons butt none seems to work. Can anyone help me to solve my problem please?

i just found some comparesion of picture quality between the viewty smart (8 mp camera) & the n97 (5 mp camera, the n97 takes much more better photo than the viewty smart!!!

best phone of all time, i found loads of java apps on the web, much better than the iphone!!!!!!!

I think that this camera phone is very good. He has a beautiful camera and video and is very easy to use.
He wanted to put a question on the camera: How is eliminated the sound of the shot of the camera? Thanks!

How about the syncronize for this phone with computer?

Could it performce like Nokia or other PDA? Which can able to sync all the contact, memo, calender even files with Outlook?

i managed to return on second day and choose nokia n97 and blessed that an exchange could take place,,i hate going down the route of faulty fones..With s/e k850 and others i have had to endure nokia have scored best but not perfection also have nokia service shop in 50 mile diameter of were i am..

I am generally a loyal fan of LG products, but for the benefit of the consumers like myself, I would say there are (Much) better phones out there. I've had this phone for few months & I did indeed replace it with N97.

The problems I had: notorious blank screen when calling (which I fixed using the post below)
music player & interface - poor response when over a GB of memory is in use & screen freezes (UI unable to handle it quick enough)
8MP camera is poor - as cameraphone users will know that for phones, the number of MP does not determine the quality of the pictures (NOT AT ALL!) so don't be fooled, for example, I would say LG Prada 2MP camera performs 100x better than LG Viewty Smart. And the 5MP of N97 without doubt is superior.

As I intend to take many pictures & listen to music, so multitasking is important - best bet is the Nokia N-Series. Seriously though, if you could spend bit more money, I advise you to get Nokia N-series, and not Samsung nor LG touchscreens. Though on the plus side, for its class (upper-middle class) phones, this phones is not bad at all!

One thing to note about N97 & LG Viewty Smart - the screen resolution of LG definitely beats that of N97, though the screensize is just amazing on the N97!
