i have just upgraded the software for my gc900, but why can't i receive calls as the screen turns off and i can't press the answer key?

had trouble at start with phone, power problems, screen problems, www.aflamcafe.com look a while to get used to but works very well now. battery life excellent. camera quite good. wouldnt recommend it for a novice touch mobile user.

I have just purchased a gc900 which has been unlocked from an orange network. Is there any way to clear all the orange rubbish out of the phone. Also why does the pc suit softwear that comes with it not work when running windows 7?

I have an LG GC900 everytime i try to make a call it says call diverted, it wont recive calls and when i try to take the divert off it say error plz try again. What can i do, thanks evevry1 xx

So you cant have anything on it

I have not had any issue's with this phone. I could say that it is probably the best unit I have used.
*Camera was just like having a digital camera - Fantastic photo's.
Great all round.

A lot of people bag this mobile by LG because they simply do not understand just how power full it reall it.

Look at the specs people:
480x800 screen resolution, not even the Omnia HD or iCrap by Apple has that resolution.

Its also a capacitive multi-touch TFT screen which is the same technology that Apple uses for its iCrap mobile.

The operating system on this handset is Linux Mobile, previously LG used Qualcomm's Brew operating system (i.e.: Viewty and Renoir) because they were using the Qualcomm's MSM6280/1 chipset, the Viewty Smart, Arena and Crystal now use the Infinion chipset which enables them to use Linux Mobile OS modded by LG under S-Class, and of course they developed there own UI which they called S-Class.

The only let down was from LG, no developers used there SDK to create apps or widgets for there S-Class OS/UI, and LG have basically given up on S-Class OS/UI even the new Mini (GD800) is a waste of time by LG because there are no developers willing to make apps or widgets, I fear that Samsung will be in the same boat with its Bada operating system as the market is now geared towards Android and Mac OS Mobile.

My main issue with the Viewty Smart is video recording and video playback.

1: Video Recording:
Unlike the Renoir and Viewty, the Viewty Smart (including Arena and Crystal) encodes video in h.263 MPEG4 3GPP release 5 ... when using 640x480 (4:3) i.e.: crap quality bewcause the bit rate is only 1.5mbits, its hopeless, the Renoir & Viewty Smart for example encoded in DivX h.263 but the difference is bit rate which is 2.5mbits which makes a huge difference in quality and I would rather quality than small file size, even when you switch to 720x480 it encodes with the better avc h.264 codec but still uses low bit rate, while the Viewty and Renoir provided widescreen 16:9 recording.

2: Video Playback:
It wont play anything bigger than 352x288 (CIF or VCD) when its DiVX encoded ... yet plays MPEG4 (h.263/h.264) 720x480 (D1) with ease ... just dumb from LG but I suspect that has more to do with Infinon than LG.



If you look at the prices for the Viewty Smart, Arena and Crystal, in just 1 year they have dropped to around €320,00 ...

Why?
Well simply due to the competition and the fact that there are no apps/widgets for S-Class OS/UI.

That said the Viewty Smart is actually a pretty powerful device and a pretty good mobile if you understand what the main use of this mobile is for.

EVERYONE complains about its performance, including the rubbish camera!
