In reply, when you put it near your ear and the screen becomes black.
It's the motion sensor next to the thing.

@anonymous : the gd900 doesn't really has problems. It's like all the other phone, there are bugs sometimes . .. , and some people doesn't know to use it and they say it doesn't work. You read the review, and it's the same ^^.
Read the other reviews to find the phone which correspond best to your needs. camera phone : pixon12 or SE idou ^^

Why doesn't this phone have GPS!? Is there anyway which you could fit a reciever? What is the audio quality of this phone like?

Hello,i have such a phone,but i have a problem,sometimes when I call sensor automatic turn off and screen becomes black,but sometimes work normaly ,when I call screen turn off when I put phone near ear,how I can repair it

for the blank screen, you can try to update the firmware with the cd from the box (I can't explain how to do, i don"t speak english well ^^).
But before, you have to save your files (memo, contact, . . . with pcsuite or anyway)
And finally, you do a factory reset (1809#*900#).
the factory reset reset your phone XD (it will be like new).
If the soft said, you don't need to update, try the factoy reset anyway (but don"t forget to save your files).
Or you can go to SAV (return your phone) cause i never had this problem with mine.
(if you understand french, you can go to www.forummobiles.com, they made tutos for how to update km900/gc900/gd900)
@anonymous : the camera is just ok, no as great as the gc900 or innov8 or se c905, but it's ok (read the review, it's the same ^^)
and it seems that some of them have construction default (blank screen when calls).

I also get a blank screen when making calls, and I'm not using a screen protector. Does anyone hav a solution to this problem?

For the others, it seems that your problems should be solves doing an upgrade then a factory reset (1809#*900#)

I bought this phone 6 weeks ago. Its been back to the shop 3 times to be fixed, massive software problems...no names come up on screen when contacts saved in phone rang or messaged, would not connect to my pc properly. Also screen stays blank when calls are incoming. Biggest waste of my time ever. Have given up and gone back to trusty old nokia.

it's a piece of junk, it freezes all the time, and I should be close to the wifi router to connect else I must disconnect and connect every 15min, Im not satisfied !!!

if i'm not using my phone (so the screen is displaying nothing)when i receieve a call the screen stays blank, when i slide the phone up this doesn't answer the call. I've got the phone set to answer on slide but nothing. Can anyone explain why the screen doesn't light up when i get a call ??
