here is website for an online store where you can purchase the phone, in the USA, when it comes available. they do not give you a release date, but I bought my N95-3(the US version) the very next day it was released from the manufacture.
I think that Samsung have done a great deal of good for themselves with putting this baby together. and remember, no cell phone holds the desired of all people configuration.
can you imagine if, the users, were able to customize all the features of a cell phone----I wish..... Don't you? :)

any kind of metal CAN distort and reduce the signal or reception if it covers the antenna.

Samsung Sucks! it's a toy for amateurs,if you want a real phone then get HTC Touch HD.
if the camera is important for you then get SONY Idou
Samsung & LG are worthless

Im just wondering why people need a document editor on this phone where it is a capcitive screen.... remember that capacitive screen does not support stylus... so if you want to edit your excel document cell by cell... or maybe you need to zoom out then again zoom in... just to edit the file....

That is maybe the reason why WIN mobile as of the moment did not make a driver to support capacitive screen... becuase of office editing, emails, and writing in free hand using stylus...

the reasons are unkonwn.
the best guess would be to be cheaper in price

of course, the metal battery cover look cooler and it's more resitive to scratches etc. but I mean that the signal receptions is more important in this case :)

By the way, I read somewhere on the net that Samsung decided to put the plastic battery cover on Omnia HD because the metal cover (prototype) was reducing the signal and call reception quality...
this is also a pity, but the signal quality is more important anyway.

anyway, it's not a problem for me as I never had a phone with a lens cover and nevertheless I manged to keep camera safe...
