I have this phone for almost 4 years until it gave up last Monday.
The best phone I ever had. Enjoyed the very best of its specs. Sadly, when I have someone fix it, he said there are no parts available in our country.
Except for it's not so good camera when recording vids,but reso on it's photos are good. This phone really has great audio features.

this is the best phone i ever used.. but because of my stupid frnds i lost a chip in it and till now i couldn,t get a person who can repair it........ any solution ???

i totally love my w980... the best phone.. music quality is brilliant.. love the screen disply.. the light effectss.. its light weight.. the flip action never gets spoiled or gets loose. am thinkin of buying the same phone again if i have to.. ! downside no wifi.. totally cool phone.. ! its one kind of a phone you will never get tired of.. trust me.. been usibg for 2years.. totallt happpy.. !

im having a problem regarding my phone, whenever i turned it off and remove the battery especially when it is not full, when i tried to turn it on the phone will not boot, only the keypad lights will turn on, it happens to me more than 5 times and the only way to fix it (free) was to reformat it and update the software using the sony ericsson updater, i dont want to always update and format my phone,, thus everybody encounters this problem???
any suggestion will be greatly appriciated..

I wnt the W980 bcoz of it's big in-built memory & FM Transmitter but i cn't find it here in Zambia. Some1 plz help me where or how i can find it & the price for it.
Am also asking if there is any xperia with an in-built FM Transmitter. Thank you!

for those of you who always experience crashes using this mobile, go to http/sonyericsson.com/support and download the software updater, follow the instructions and update your phone to the latest software, this phone was prone to crashes so have that software install in your computer to revive the your phone,, it fixes black screen and any types of software related problems,, if your phone wont turn on, or only the keypad lights that was turning on when you turn on your phone just update the software, no need to send it to shops or to sony for repairs,,

i have this phone since it was launch and it is a very reliable phone, after 4 yrs now the clamp lock was little bit loose maybe because of extensive use, no problem so far, only frequently i update the software because it hangs up and wont open 2x a year i update the software because it crashes, but other than that the phone was reliable and looks good even it is out dated, very good mobile

for those who planning to buy this unit, i strongly recommend not to buy this unit because the software of this unit crashes frequently(base on my experience). to bad. . . a very nice phone, but not reliable. . .(good thing, i know how to fix it)
