> In reply to Mohsen @ 2008-11-11 11:18 from nCbyA1800 supports dual card slot, one of which is designed for CDMA cards, which one probably can't even get in US (or Hong Kong or many other CDMA supported places around the world).
I don't have A1800, though I doubt the CDMA slot actually supports another GSM SIM.
Anyway, even if the extra slot supports GSM card, is it worth another US$200? (the premium of A1800 over A1600)
Sorry, not for me.

> In reply to robert @ 2008-11-04 01:55 from Rxn2For differences between GSM & CDMA, especially the technical aspects, suggest you go to Wikipedia.
Generally speaking, CDMA is a totally different network away from GSM.
Most countries around the world now support GSM networks, EXCLUDING Japan and Korea. Most countries run on the GSM900/1800 frequency, with execptions in many countries in the American region, which runs on GSM 850/1900 frequency.
My understanding is the following countries have CDMA networks.
US/Canada
Japan
Korea
Hong Kong (for romaing only)
Taiwan (not sure folded up or not)
So if your country (or the country you often travel to) does not have any CDMA network, there is little to no reason why you should pay US$200 more over an A1600 for an A1800.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-24 19:02 from C}uWA1800 is CDMA and GSM, A1600 is only GSM.
The A1600 will do everything that the A1800 will do (excluding CDMA) plus a few more features that the A1800 won't do.
Buy the A1600 unless you need CDMA in your phone!
