A gem. My first mobile 'phone, and I still have one today. Sadly it's not compatible with my in-car unit, but is ideal for use when travelling, being tri-band, and with the addition of the 1000mAH extended-life battery and enlarged back. Mine is now running on GiffGaff and works like a charm.

Hi, can somebody tell me if id (number or/and name) of the missed call is shown? I had startac 130
and there was just the notice of the missed call
on the display and no identification of the caller.
thanks

> In reply to Manu Singh @ 2010-01-22 12:57 from wiS6 - click to readIt's a really old phone, but I got a charger that's for in cars and bought a adapter with, because I couldn't find something that goes right into the power outlet. But I recommend you taking the phone to the shop and ask around which fits in and loads.

I am about to donate my phone to charity, but would first like to erase all the phone book entries in one operation, and not one by one. The Master Reset didn't do it. Is there a secret Total Reset button somewhere? Many thanks.

I can't seem to get the print back to small or normal as my husband would say.

One of the gratest phones with unique full functional answering machine. Voice notes are very handy and overall the phone works like a charm.

It has excellent, soft, no resonant sound quality (ear speaker and mic). Still a pleasure to listen to even after 7 years having it.

Still use it as a backup phone, because it is rock solid, incontrast to all my newer phones - various sony-ericssons. Those one broke very easily and software is rather glitchy.

Timeport 250 is a gem.

Answers to previous posts:
Lock/Unlock keypad viea simultaneous press of [#] and [*]. When you get used to it, you'll easily do it in one hand.

Language can be set through menus, by counting them from the uppermost. menu, option 6 ("phone setup"), option 19 ("language"), there you will see names of all languages in native letterset.

Just to ensure that you are on the right chinese menu, "language" menu is also an option 6, when counting from the bottom.

Was my first phone also. Bought Oct/Nov 2001 in Lagos. It had a unique ringing tone that sounds so gentle when you're close but can be heard over a very long distance (you'll hear it from the room upstairs with room door closed.
I once lost it at Alaba International Market, but the shop owner who had seen it with me (he also had same and valued it so much) rallied round and the phone resurfaced.

Some one gave me a Motorola TIMEPORT 250 to use while I am in Europe. Unfortunately the language is set to Chinese.
Could some one, please, tell me the steps I need to reset the language back to English? Thank you

I bought this phone while stationed in Italy. I have used it since 2001 and continue to use it. Other than the fact that it came with the User's Manual in Italian it still works great and is virtually indestructible. I have used it all over America and still take it back and forth to Europe.

i've been using one of these phones since 2000,(admittely not my main phone all the time tho), and apart from 2 slightly sticky keys, it works perfectly. Its built well. yes it doesnt have the latest gizmos, but its perfect for my
need, why would i replace it if it still works ??
