Nice phone, with 3.5 mm jack and 2.2 inches screen and good to have GPS in it. Probably it'll attract nokia lovers as many facilities in small phones

I am a big Nokia fan and I have used a lot of their devices including the old internet table. I find it really interesting that they are going to give a GPS feature in a low end phone. As competetion grows the quality and everything will improve as well. Why pay 30k or 40k for something when you can get it well under 15k. I am really happy with their decision and support them with each and everyone of their product.

> In reply to tgm91 @ 2009-12-07 15:00 from LaC2 - click to readTotally agree with u tm91, 1st thing for a navigation phone is big screen, second u could put a Flexible OS,with good processor, and with good battery, and lets not forget 3G...we are almost in 2010, and companies still deliver phones with no 3G, or with no bluetooth...
i mean is it still that expensive as a technology to implement?
i really cant understand!!

S40 sounds getting a little to far (or too short).
They could have got atleast S60 so that there could atleast be some multi tasking.

For next summer planned to buy Nokia 6710 for my trip. But I don't like sliders that much. So, seems 2710 will be my choice. Yes!

Great idea and not too late.Low end budget market is hunger of this inexpensive model that been denied by most producer.Fenomena will awake Teens & new life trend for the beginners that will leave with it.Life-time license is another killer.Keep it up Nokia.

It would be nice if:
1) GPS reception is very good, like a good dedicated GPS device (works well unassisted)
2) software is good
3) actually is pretty usable compared to a dedicated GPS device. Dedicated GPS devices are useless (as mobile devices) after 2 years because their batteries can't hold a long charge anymore. At least with phones and old battery can be replaced easily.
Interesting times.

WTF ??? Navigation phone on S40 ...? What Navigation ... Google Maps :))) ? Also, the 2.2 screen doesn't help too much ... NOKIA, you are really going down ... I understand they want to make small buget phones for the mass... But navigation phone ... I mean, people who travel surely have money to buy a real gps or a better phone with a real OS...
