got this phone last December as a gift to myself.=)
it never gave me problems as what has others had written. i can watch on youtube perfectly and other websites with flash video plays as well. I also activated the navigation stuff and downloaded route 66. amoled is very cool (as compared to my gf's ipod touch). screen resolution is very crisp (again compared with ipod touch 3rd gen). Texting is just fine. unlocked game are so cool.(i got the .jar/jad files from darkforest group) plus i installed tomb raider, avalanche snowboarding3d, and bejeweled. i still have tons of jar file but never tried them yet. camera is good, though i hate the led flash, sometimes its too bright.=)anyway, this is a very good feature phone. imo, it won't disappoint you if your into media/game phone.

I'm very satisfied with my Jét, it have more than I need, and I don't need any useless apps :D

I have had nothing but great experience with this phone not one problem in ages I had it. it has everything I need & i don't need a smartphone this is enough for me. Everything is fantastic

to compare between Jet and Nexus One,
to my opinion, Nexus One is definite better than Jet in many aspects.
but it's like comparing an elephant with a sheep.
they are not the same class. Nexus One is Smart phone, Android OS.
Jet is non-smart phone, Samsung own OS.
so which one is better.
except the bluetooth, camera and LED screen, Nexus One will win.
but one most important, u can get 2 and half Jet(s) for the same ammount of money as Nexus one.
so it's ur choice to buy one or 2 and half.

my friend just bought the samsung corby and we couldn't find a way to set a different wallpaper on each home screen. The only way to do this was by using the pre installed wallpapers. I was wondering if the jet also has the same problem? Pls advise

Everything else you say, I disagree. This phone has multiple problems it should not have, lacks proper customer service and it was accompanied by misleading "marketing" by Samsung that tricked not only customers but also companies that sell it.
You need to read older posts to get an understanding of the several problems that plaque this phone:
1. Youtube bad quality
2. Apps and games cannot be downloaded to memory card
3. Apps and games downloaded to phone memory cannot be transferred to memory card
4. New firmware not officially available via samsung site or PC Suite
5. PC Suite often fails to connect with phone
6. Oily patch under screen for half the phones
7. False marketing presenting it as "Smarter than a Smartphone" and at the same time declaring that they will develop apps for the phone which they never did
8. No new widgets
9. When asnwering a phone, the mute button gets clicked by your ear (before the senser shuts the screen off)
10. If you hold the lock key for 30 secs, it gets unlocked, causing the phone to get unlocked when in your pocket or in its case
10. The RSS feed section is useless and does not work as you can not save RSS feeds there
11. Size limit on apps you can download which is redicilously low
12. No copy/paste
13. No threaded sms
14. You have to dial back missed calls, otherwise they keep popping up every time you get a new message or missed call
And the list goes on and on and on and on and on. And Samsung has officially replied and accepted these problems (i have posted the samsung replies on darkforestgroup).
So are there people who are disappointed?
OF COURSE.
Is this a good phone?
OF COURSE.
Is it the best or one of the best phones made?
NO
Is it one of the worst phones made?
NO
Did samsung trick people with its marketing?
YES
Did samsung make stupid mistakes with this phone?
YES
Do people have a right to voice their disappointment, frustration, anger, etc?
OF COURSE, YES, MOST DEFINITELY

Im using this great fone about a week now.. mine works fine. no freezng or hangs.. fast really great fone.. my only complain is the signal reception? im lucky if i have one or two signal bar.. while my old k750i sony ericsson have a full signal bars with the same sim card?? how to fix this thing?? does firmware update can fix my promblem?? other than that this is xoxo great fone..

Hello all,,
Please be informed that .Jad file is not the installation file , if you will try to open it in your phone you will see the mesaage un supported file . .jad file is just support file for .jar files . And .jar file cant work without .jad file .You have to put them in same drection in your phone .

i can install ebuddy mobile on my jet.
so i think u can use yahoo or anything like other phones on this
i haven't try yahoo messenger.
remember, the ebuddy is just java. not the phone qwerty key pad working (may be due to my ebuddy version)

i have such file in my memory and i deleted them from computer through mass storage mode.
just SThunbDB file remain and i found no problme.
the other file don't apper again.
they are just system file and not harm to u.

i think it's not possible to transfer or sync the nokia phone book to samsung phone book because different phone (Samsung, LG, SE, Nokia, ... ) uses differents fields and layout in their phone books
i tried to transfer from SE to Jet but it failed too.
so i've one advice.
please sync ur Nokia address book with ur computer outlook express adress book.
then sync again to Jet.
this will help u some way but u'll nedd little tunning after this.

the firmware update is possible either for S8000 or S8003.
i just have 1 phone but as i read many commnet in many other forums, losing wifi connectivity is never found. so i think firmware update is available anywhere.
just 2 things,
ur phone must be not carrier phone
and updating firmware is taking ur own risk. u might get very strong heart beats during the update process because u want to know whether u'll success the update and what's new with the update :)

Is it possible to synchronize the phone book memory of my nokia 6233 with Samsung Jet, I tried to do it via Bluetooth but failed to do. Kindly help in this regard.
I have another strange problem with Samsung Jet, there are two system files [SThumbsDB.tdb and Store(9e57d...)] that are always keep showing in the "my files" icon, Is it possible to somehow hide them from the phone or remove it altogther. Kindly help. Thanx.
