I love this phone. So far I haven't encountered any problems with it. Not a single restart or hang. Very reliable. The build quality is good as well. Features are awesome and camera is excellent in daylight. Nightshots, however are not what I expected. The image is pretty acceptable when you take a picture at an object near you but when you take pictures more than 1meter away, the pictures are really horrible. But again, really excellent during daylight.

My phone is only 3 days old and I noticed that the words that say "3.2 Megapixel auto-focus" in the camera cover is starting to be gone. It has no marks though. I can now only see the word Cyber-shot. It doesn't look weird though. I really take care of my phones. Anyways, anyone ever had the same problem as me? My phone is a future black btw.

This phone isnt always reliable. The antenna hasnt been strongly built to provide good 3G/HSDPA(3G+) coverage. The standby screen doesnt last long as sometimes the display can flicker from time to time, as experienced. I had to change mine.

Brought this phone two months ago. Extremely dissapointed. Phone kept malfuntioning, rejecting the battery and the sim. First had to upgrade the phone's sofware which worked for a week but eventually had to send it to repairs. Another downside was that not all applications worked, and froze alot. Seems that alot of C510s are faulty as quite a few people i know were experiencing the same problems. The features however were excellent, especially the texting where messages can be organised, and the entire conversation you have had with that person. Battery life is pretty long. Camera was ideal except when the light for it was turned on where the photos couldn't be seen properly. Games are good, especially the maze one where the handset can be turned from side to side to make the ball move through it.

> In reply to gov @ 2009-07-06 11:22 from vpdI - click to readI got updated to software R1EA034, hasn't solved the lag and hasn't stopped the standby screen suddenly splitting in two and showing cramped up versions of the same screen top and bottom.
My 3G is off and the brightness is on 50% but still only getting 2 days tops. Its a shame because as you say the UI is awesome.
There's nothing much out there mid-range, looked at Nokia, LG and just figured maybe Samsung. Didn't realise the Jet was so pricey though :-(

One last thing. The flash is most useful...as a torchlight. It provides good illumination when walking in the dark but not when taking pics.

> In reply to P @ 2009-07-06 10:11 from m5vs - click to readSamsung star got no 3g. A deal breaker for me.
As for samsung jet, i have no plans of buying a phone that expensive. It'll cost me both arms. :-). How will i use that phone after i bought it? Hehehe.
Midrange is what i'm looking for. One that truly delivers what it promises. I'm waiting for SE's next midrange phones...(I'm eating my words, hahaha). I guess i'm stuck with SE. I really loved their UI and C510's design. Lesson learned, don't rely too much on reviews found on the net, and don't buy a phone too soon after it's just been released. I was too eager to replace my g502...
Can update solve even for only some of the problems I have? I already have r1f*34. What i want solved is the laggy UI and music player that keeps on pausing for a second or two. As for the battery issue, i don't think there's something we can do about it, except turning 3g off and setting the brightness level to 50%, and don't think much about it, and hope for the best. Cheers SE!

> In reply to gov @ 2009-07-06 10:04 from vpdI - click to readHello Gov! Same here I love SE's UI, its by far the easiest to use but then I suppose we'd get used another manufacturer over time. I'm just thinking of Samsung at the moment, the Star and the Jet look decent phones. I've got a 1gb card thats only 3/4 full and I also get lag. We need SE to sort themselves out.

> In reply to P @ 2009-07-02 21:42 from m5vs - click to readHello P. I got carried away in my last post there. :-) But i'm not changing my opinion. My sister still got my old k510. So i did a serious shootout between k510 and c510. K510 only got a fixed focus 1.3 mp camera with very basic features. One might consider it a low-end phone nowadays. c510 is way way ahead in terms of features and functionality. As it turns out: my good old k510 pics matched c510, losses in color reproduction but wins in terms of image details. With a little editing, k510's pics looked really nice. With heavy editing like adjusting the color balance, hue, gamma, etc., k510 pics exceeded that of c510. I let my friends chose which picture looked better, all chose k510. Considering k510 is older and very inferior compared to c510, it matches or even beats in the area c510 is supposed to good at. C510 pics were too bright for my taste, too soft, and important details lost. (It sure looks nice on the phone's display though). Not to mention pics taken in low light conditions. I expected better from c510 having seen k510's camera performance.
I haven't decided my next phone yet. I'm not fond on Nokia's design, not keen on trying LG, maybe i'll try Samsung. But i really like SE's UI. BTW, my phone really lags, with or without the M2 card. And gets hot playing though the loudspeaker, calling for more than 10 minutes (i guess that's normal), and using the flash successively (is that suppose to happen?).
My complaints equals the praises i have for this phone. Very sad.
