You can try get your hands on the X1 battery, that battery lasts longer or simply adjust your phone settings... and about the video call, it will not be possible on this phone, due to the fact it only has 1 camera, if you want a phone that has video calling, then you must buy a phone that has two cameras

But there is minor update which SE released few days before but it is not gingerbread, u can upgrade it if u wish.
