I ordered this phone and received it last week. Its easily one of the best phones I've ever used, and I've tried a LOT of phones before I settled on this one. The interface is very easy to learn and its got one of the best resistive screens I've encountered. My only gripe is that the phone's ringer seems stuck on ascending, even when you don't want it to be, though from what I've seen online, its an issue with a number of Samsung phones. All in all, I highly recommend it.

I take it this doesn't have the "accelerator" feature so can't do a qwerty keyboard. If it would be the perfect midrange phone.

> In reply to John @ 2008-12-01 04:13 from nsK{ - click to readthis isnt a poor mans omnia. it is a mid range touch phone for people who dont need a smart phone. it is exactly like the f480 which they offer at t-mobile. this phone isnt a smart phone and will never be a smart phone. this is for people who want a touch phine that dont want to shell out the money for an iphone or a touch pro. if you want an omnia that bad switch to verizon and get one from them. if not this phone is brilliant. i messed with one at the att store and it worked like a charm. the only times i missed buttos were cause i didnt push them. when you hit the right spot it works every time.

Don't blame Samsung for the huge let down that is the lack of WLAN on this phone. It has ATT logo written all over it, trying to force their outrageously expensive data plans down users throats. Cut the WLAN on a smartphone and it is so badly crippled that once you buy it you will be force to get the data plan and triple your monthly bill in the process. You cheap out on the phone and then you pay ten times the full price over the length of the 2 years contract. So, don't get this poor man's Omnia, but get a real Omnia on the ebay or elsewhere and screw ATT ripoffs.

had this phone for about 2 weeks, best phone ive ever owned. the OS is blazing fast, no waiting for menus to load or anything like that. it has a standard size headphone jack, so no adapters to buy. texting is alot easier than the iphone because of the bigger buttons on screen. I purchased the HTC fuze, and like every other windows mobile phone ive owned, it made me want to throw it at a wall. returned that after only 2 days and got this phone. best decision i ever made.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-26 10:21 from FI$A - click to readNobody is loosing it to iPhone. Get your facts straight. This is not OMNIA. Omnia is suppoed to be realeased on AT&T later. It's not windows, just touchwiz. And finally this is what AT&T asked for from samsung. It's not for international market. Unlike Apple Samsung is not a one product wonder. They have different models to cater different segment.

How many Omnias does Samsung have to make? Lol. This is where they lose big time with the iphone. Apple does not have to make 10 iphones, only firmware updates. That way you can keep your existing iphone and just improve from it as updates become available.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-20 03:53 from 49ch - click to readin response to your query; WLAN or WIFI isn't really important at all. for one you have to be in an area or abode where you can access password free wifi to get the internet. So its pretty dam limiting. whereas for a few bucks you can use 3g to get internet virtually anywhere in metropolitan areas making it actually useful in day to day scenarios. WiFi's pretty old school and void if u have 3g access on your phone. hope that helps.

just picked one up and love it! one of the best and most accurate screenS i've used to date. not up to par with the iphone, but what really is? internet experience is great and t9 is superb. posting this quick review from my eternity actually. thought haptic feedback was just a gimmick but it's actually really helpful. the att tv is amazing and youtube connections are near instant with minimal buffering. headphone jack is one of my favorites but the volume has only seven levels..sort of a let down but the music player is very ipod touch and supports album art. speaker is pretty decent, very acceptable for casual listening. bluetooth is blazingly fast, hitting nearly 140k in my nonscientific tests. transfers 4mb in just under 30 seconds. not a fan of the small, skinny, and seemingly delicate charger connection. connections via the pc suite are seamless and very easy to setup. camera has photo and video mode with tons of customization options. biggest nag on my end is the third party java app nag screen when the program wishes to Access the net. especially annoying with gmail when i'm trying to delete unwanted emails. besides that, i don't have many cons with this simply amazing device. if you are second guessing your decision, don't! go purchase one now!
