You obviously don't know shit about smartphones. I gave you a workaround, a current solution how to get things on your phone. I am not Samsung nor any carrier. You came here and ask for solution, a solution that you can find through GOOGLE if you spare a little time to search. So, be grateful that I took piece of my time to respond to your question and gave you a solution, so respect that. No one here is obligated to give you an answer, you have numerous forums on internet about that. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE FORUMS, this is a comment section, not Q&A page.
So, regarding of the thing that you are too lazy to even register your name here or nickname and all you need is just one click, I can see that you are lazy ass who'd rather ask stupid questions than search for himself. How do you think I know those things? I did my research without asking questions and learn about the phone and the OS. So I advise you to do the same.
And about what you want updates over OTA, well, you ask on the wrong place, write to Samsung or your carrier.
And one more thing, when you say about some phone that is INTERNATIONAL VERSION, it usually means it's model for various countries, not just one. Does not necessarily means it has to be unlocked, but usually is. Good luck doing your research. I will advise you to visit wpcentral.com for everything you need about this phone and the WP OS.
Oh, and I don't give a shit if this or any of my replies are not ACCEPTABLE for you. Go ask somewhere else.
BorisMKD, 28 Jul 2014Actually you are very wrong. Big percentage of the international version are already on GDR3 a... moreThis explain is not acceptable.
We are user and not much like what you said need to do the CSC code change to get the Update of GDR3 etc.
Please bare in mind also, not every consumer have this phone have go thru all tedious work , all need is just Push OTA and click install. What you given the solution is far beyond some normal consumer is able to play around. The international version is unlock and not bound to any carrier.
BorisMKD, 28 Jul 2014Actually you are very wrong. Big percentage of the international version are already on GDR3 a... moreStupidiest thing I didn't hear. What is the connection between carrier and firmware update??? If your phone have been bought at carrier, then Ok. But, why other people they didn't buy phone at carrier still waiting?
Anonymous, 20 Jul 2014This phone is good but Samsung will not going to support since they are focus more on android.... moreActually you are very wrong. Big percentage of the international version are already on GDR3 and most of them installed WP8.1 Developer Preview and it run's great on ATIV S. If you scroll down this comment section you will find where a guy Vladimir explained how to upgrade from GDR1 and GDR2 to GDR3. But i guess you are too lazy to scroll and search.
I also explained few comments bellow that ATIV S is scheduled to get all updates on WP8.1 OFFICIAL and maybe even to WP9 if that came out before December 15th 2015, cuz ATIV S is set to be supported up to that date. So whatever came out from MS up to that date will be available for ATIV S.
Alternatively you can go to WP Central forums where there is a few ways of getting the GDR3 on your ATIV S and without voiding the warranty or doing the interop unlock (rooting the WP8).
Hope with this i clear your concerning's about the future of ATIV S. Enjoy the phone if you have it, cuz it's an awesome phone. I have it and I love it all the way :)
P.S. Samsung is already making the firmware, but it's the carriers who need to approve that so their consumers can download it. So, it's not Samsung fault, it's the carrier's fault of latency.
I have this phone and installed the windows 8.1 developers edition and works great
This phone is good but Samsung will not going to support since they are focus more on android. The update is not happen since lumia line have started rolled out windows phone 8.1. International set of Ativ S still stuck at GDR2 and they will be any official windows phone 8.1
Anonymous, 18 Jul 2014Its free to join the preview for developers program and most, if not all Windows phone 8 users... moreThank you for clarifying that. If you read the comments bellow, you would notice that that was told and answered about 6-7 times so far :)
BorisMKD, 29 Apr 2014Yes you can if you got a developer license from Microsoft, but you will have to pay a fee for ... moreIts free to join the preview for developers program and most, if not all Windows phone 8 users can register for it, install the associated app from the store, & upgrade their Windows phones to 8.1 DP.

And please, this is a page about Samsung ATIV S, not Blackberry, so in the future don't ask about other phones on this page. If you have an opinion or comment about this phone (Samsung ATIV S), please do write it down. And this is not some forum page. If you have any questions regarding this phone or some other, use google search for forums about the particular phone. Thank you!

what will this wp8 do to my phone ?? How will it improve my phone and what do you think of new bb phone passport coming out pretty soon ??
Question, 25 Jun 2014Does anyone know when 8.1 update coming to this phone? When firstly Microsoft makes it official and OEM's release their drivers for the OS and start pushing them over OTA. When this happens, it depends on your carrier when it will approve the update. Since some countries are stuck with GDR1 and some with GDR2, and their users still haven't got the GDR3, you might see the future when this will be officially available :)
Hope this time with the new upgrade will be faster :)

My conc... moreIf you are in USA or if you can anyhow purchase it, go for the Samsung ATIV SE, 5" display, quad core and 2GB RAM, but if you are on budget or not that much of a freak about pixels, then go for the ATIV S, I love mine. And I read somewhere (don't remember the site) that ATIV S is on the list for the next upgrades after WP8.1 (yes, including WP9) :)
BorisMKD, 09 Jun 2014Why don't you read the comments first then ask? That questions was answered 10-15 posts bellow... moreYes i know Lumia 930 will come with WP8.1 and i know Ativ S will be updated to WP 8.1. My concern is a windows phone that is guaranteed to be updated beyond WP 8.1, such as WP 8.5 or WP 9, whatever it is.
I need a windows phone w/ large screen right now. Lumia 930 is my first choice but it seems Microsoft/Nokia takes a lot of time to release it. My second choices are Ativ S, L920 & L925. but I prefer Ativ S because it has the same Soc as the 2 Lumias, a larger screen and cheaper.

That questions was answered 10-15 posts bellow, search for it. :))) And one more question, Were you thinking of Windows Phone 8.1 or you really think of Windows Phone 9? cuz Windows Phone 9 is not coming with Nokia Lumia 930, but WP8.1 is. For both 8.1 and "9" you have the answer bellow, just scroll the comments.
Will Ativ S receive future updates such as WP9? If yes, i will this phone tomorrow. Im tired waiting for Lumia 930. Please reply. Thanks...
xian zing, 01 Jun 2014May I know if anyone have tried to check for the antutu benchmark? If yes, May I know the scor... moreAntutu Benchmark for WP8 sucks, that app is mainly great for Android and iOS, i read (you should try that), somewhere on some sites i found that Antutu for WP it doesn't show real benchmarks, for example for Lumia 920 it gets resolution of 480x800. There are others benchmark tools for WP, use them, find them, do a research. :) And in matter of fact, Youtube has a good videos about benchmarking ATIV S, and in all it came with very good benchmarks.
The key word here is: RESEARCH! :)))
Beagleboy, 01 Jun 2014Hi, I am in New Zealand. I have one of these phones and love it, except for the broken screen!... moreIn case you don't have a retail or mobile service shop there to fix it, then you have options like ebay, amazon, and lots of other sites. Bottom line: USE GOOGLE :))))
