this fone rocks man, im not all about the bells and whistles i just need a fone for calls and sms......beats all other brands for rugged fone including sonim (bad fone) .
no trouble with mine and has exceeded my expectations for durability and all it has to offer, also is not a brick like most other ip54-67 rating fones. be with me till it or i die. peace

I just bought a GREY and Black model at SM Cebu City, Philippines Junrex for Cash Php 5,975.00. Inserted a 4 GB Sandisk card. Very handy.

The most important thing - the LED flashlight is VERY BRIGHT. It's even brighter than my dedicated LED LENSER flashlight.

Very rugged and tough build.
The price does not hurt my budget.
I feel very safe and secure that if I drop this thing, it will not break easily.
Basic phone I use as a backup.
Until I buy the Nokia E72 whose price has now gone down from the stratospheric Php 21,000 to just over Php 18,000.
I highly recommend this phone.
For its features, five stars out of five.

I'm thinking of buying this B2100 but hesitant in a way that the screen resolution is very low and quite small. What I like is the ruggedness and the torch. Can anyone please reply which is better this B2100 or the nokia 6303. Thanks!

Please someone Reply. Does this phone support recording Calls? Im thinking about buying this phone but am not sure if this certain feature is available in b2100.

I think that b2700 has features fit for outdoor use like digital compass, altimeter and also a flashlight but due to battery's poor performance and it keeps on freezing, it didnt become successful. I think they improved the battery life and improved the "RUGGEDNESS" by releasing samsung marine. A lot of people have negative comments about samsung b2700. Samsung b2100 is the better choice because its battey life is meant for not hitting the socket for days plus its handy flashlight which is useful in night adventures in camping. Samsung b2100 has better mp3 sound in speakers and headphones than b2700. Plus Samsung b2100 has an equaliser which b2700 doesnt.

whteva u'l are takin about "samsung B2700" is your answer.. it ws released b4 b2100 bt due to software bugs it ws nt commercially successful..

Its been a while since i had an outdoor phone, my first was the siemens m65, and the b2100 is rocking the boat, as for features i would agree with the other people here about the phone not having an altimeter,thermometer and compas

IT's excellent for music because the sound quality is clear and the high notes are defined. Lg gm200 only has an extra subwoofer which adds the sound quality. Samsung is the choice!

Id opt for additional features like flashlight, noice cancellation and shockproofness so GO FOR SAMSUNG because it works above average as a music player because of its louder-than-average loudspeaker. it only lacks a litle bass

cons:
no compass, altimeter, thermometer which shouldve been there because its an outdoor phone

This phone is EXCELLENT, nice torch
Although i think that in the NEAR future samsung should release a real EXPLORER phone which really fits its name, im not saying b2100 is bad :)
It should have these features:
-higher IP ratings for better water resistance
-more multimedia features
-more outdoor features
-they should include a compass and thermometer, altimeter which is most important for "explorer phones"
-they should also include a flashlight TORCH like b2100 which is VERY VERY USEFUL AND MOST IMPORTANT
-It would be best if they included a SOLAR PANEL because it would make sense with the outdoor stuff being not able to hit the socket for days when you are camping or lost in the woods
-Better camera so you can shoot better scenery photos
-SUNLIGHT MODE like in samsung U600 so you can see the display even under direct sunlight outdoors
-a mosquito reppelant which is the high decible ringing, perfect for tents ( i made one using monotones by composing the highest notes in old nokia composer)
I JUST CANT WAIT FOR SAMSUNG TO RELEASE ANOTHER PHONE WITH THESE FEATURES I WROTE. I CAN FEEL THAT THEY ARE JUST TESTING US IF WE ARE IN TO RUGGED PHONES AND IF THEY SUCCEED WITH B2100 SAELES, THEY WILL RELEASE AN OUTDOOR PHONE WITH MORE OUTDOOR FEATURES. I FEEL THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES AN OUTDOOR PHONE SHOULD HAVE ARE SOLAR PANELS, COMPASS AND TORCH. IM SO CONTENTED WITH MY B2100

This is the best phone ever! It has all the features that everyone will sure love! Im soo into outdoors and the most useful feature of it is the flashlight. You wouldnt need to carry flashlights with you anywhere, the most common problem of outdoor people is having to "find" their flashlights in the dark when they may have lost them already. With just one touch of a button the light is activated and is VERY bright for a built-in torch. I used it in our recent vacation in Boracay island to go crab hunting in the pitch black darkness. Very usefull! I love the music player which has excellent sound quality especially the loudspeaker which is very loud. The flashlight could be used for: Blackouts or power outages, seeing your way in the dark, night hiking in the beach or the mountains, finding stuff at night, looking at maps, ghost hunting and many more. It has the brightest flashlight beam compared to phones with built in lights because the beam is spotted not spread like other phones like nokia 5500 sport. I didnt submerge it in water yet because i want to maintain its "brand newness". It has a high tech feeling everytime you access the menu functions. In fact with its basic display that all sites claim, it isnt bad at all, it's excellent with its modern UI! It has that high tech snappy feeling whenever you press buttons. The camera is clear enough ,for taking photos of sceneries you find while trekking in mountains like baguio or banaue rice terraces but i dont find it dissapointing. Im wondering y other phone sites are saying that the camera is dissapointing, IT'S NOT! In fact its camera is just right for viewing pictures because a lot of people are used to super high definition cameraphones.They forgot about 1.3 megapixel phones which were considered very high end before. It also has a long battery life, It lasted for 4 days with me with some calling (5 calls) 30+texting, almost 2 hours of flashlight use( when we did crab hunting in boracay in the pitch black) and nearly 30 mins of music player (obsessed Michael jackson fan). You can use the music player so you will forget about your loneliness and fear of ghosts or darkness when you are alone in the dark finding your way home and completely scared because of the silence and use the torch light to guide your way (heee heee im xcited with this phone in dark conditions)
