The touch screen is not intuitive at all no matter how much you calibrate it. Often when replying to a text message you hit the button to reply a message and it takes too long to bring you to the screen where you are supposed to type your message. Usually, since it is taking to long, you tend to think that it did not recognize that you pressed the key. THEN it would respond but it will immediately take you to the screen asking you if you would like to send an empty message (skipping the part where you are supposed to type the message). This happens 85% of the time. TOTALLY CRAP!

Its not some regular, everyday glitch and you'd be comfortable typing messages only if you are a jailed prisoner and have tonnes of time for typing. If you message while walking on the street, office multitasking or even talking to someone..., You better be ready to stop, pay attention and virtually Devote your time in typing a message. A regular keypad or other models from samsung are far better than this. Overall, a good phone but with a massive problem stated above. And no, you can't improve your 'skills' or say get 'used' to it because neither my peer and nor did the college student in my neighbourhood could do that in months after purchasing it. The college student sold it for half the price recently and the other person found his fancy in sony ericsson Yendo.

for those who are complaining about the small keypad, fret no more! using samsung keypad in portrait, long press the xt9 button (lower left) then something will pop up asking you if you want a 12 phonepad, 20 keypad or qwerty keypad. i use 12 phonepad, it's just like a regular phone's alphanumeric keypad. i think that one is fairly big enough for regular thumbs (except if you have a giant's thumb!)

the for those asking why you'd press one key and the key beside it gets press instead, better fix your screen's alignment (its on general settings). that should solve the problem.
